I have this heater for my Jenday Conure. She loves it and snuggles up against it to sleep in the winter. During the day she is always with me, so I only turn it on at night for 12 hours. It doesn’t get too hot.

I have a cockatiel and bought the smaller of the warmers and it is the perfect size. I first installed it above one of her perches and at first she wanted nothing to do with it. Moved it to another perch and that seems to be, in her estimation at least, the perfect place. She now knows that she can sit leaned against it if she wants extra warmth. The instructions say that it is a 12V unit and can remain plugged in continuously. My bird doesn’t seem to use it at night, so that is when I unplug it. When it gets colder, I may leave it on at night, too. The heater gets lightly warm, even holding it in my hand for an extended period of time, it didn’t get any warmer and wasn’t overly warm. And the bird can move away if she wants. Right size for cockatiels, love birds, budgies and other smaller birds. I included a picture of the back of the unit to show how it attaches to the cage bars. Basically the the cord feeds between 2 bars out of the cage and to the outlet. That part can be a little fiddly. The actual heater has two metal threaded rods sticking out if its back, the included two washers and wing nuts are placed on the rods from the outside of the cage and screwed on. The unit sits flush against the inside of the bars and is securely held in place. I can’t comment on durability yet, I’ll update if anything changes.

With this crazy southern Texas weather, Bird hasn’t discovered its usefulness. Hasn’t been cold here lately. Hmmmm

Nice little heat pad, easy to mount, easy to move, long cord. My conure is more naked than feathered and she adjusts to her comfort perching closer or farther away. I feel quite safe with it.

One of our birds is suspicious of everything but when I hooked this up for the first time he went right up to it. Every night I hook it up and he literally rushes into his case to the warmer. We got him as a rescue and his feathers were thin so we presumed hed be cold during the winter months. Bought both the large and small versions and working well in smaller bird cases where canary and finch love it! No problem here at all. Excellent product!

Carly/Carl Lee loves shims warming plate. I have to leave the doggy door open for my pups and this keeps my pineapple conure toasty.

Jitterbug lives in Alaska. Jitterbugs mom turns the heat down at night. Jitterbug gets cold at night and after baths. Jitterbug has never been happier with a non toy in her house. Jitterbug thanks all the hands that were involved in the making of her toasty zone.

This item is very well made. It is thick enough to feel solid and stay put with the cage attachments but not so thick as to be bulky. I have a small platform under it and my parakeets enjoy sitting on the platform and warming themselves by the heater. It is at the top of the cage so that the radiant heat can be captured at night under their cage cover and provide some warmth even if they arent sitting right next to it. This is a great product and I think it will definitely help my parakeets to stay cozy, warm and heathy this winter!

So, given winters are approaching, I decided to cozy up my birds and bought this. Well built, and warms up enough and has a small form factor. The issue starts right from its form factor, given it produces very little amount of heat, the plate like form factor instantly dissipates it and my birds do not even notice it. It would have been much more effective if it was a little larger, may be had a plastic insulation and produced a little more heat. On the other hand the perch type heater which these guys produce is really good. So, if you have really small cage and may be a single bird, the. This may work, but I would still recommend the perch type
