Greater than one weekBeing a photographer/storm chaser, I sometimes have to leave my gear (several thousand dollars worth) in the vehicle when I dont really want to. While everything is insured, Id rather not come back to find it smash and grabbed and have to deal with replacing it. So this year I bought Pelican cases (which are super strong) and this cable, as well as a couple of locks. This this is really thick! What I do is run this cable down around the factory seat mounts (these are made to withstand crash forces) and then put the ends into the locks I put on the Pelican cases. Sure, if someone had enough time and could make enough noise, they could probably eventually either cut the cable, the locks or the lock place on the cases. But the intent here is to prevent any smash and grabs when I HAVE to leave the gear in when I go in a store or something. I think this will work perfectly for that scenario, and give me some peace of mind. Its all about making it harder for someone to grab your stuff, so they move on to the next car.

> 3 dayI bought a Kryptonite cable that is similar to this and really like the flexibility of the braided cable over the standard twisted cable, but it was too short for my purposes and Kryptonite didnt make a longer cable for a reasonable price (that I could find). I was a little cautious about this cables flexibility based on a few of the reviews, but that was short lived once I received it. This cable is quite flexible (equal to the expensive Kryptonite) and very well protected with a vinyl coated cable and plastic coated crimps so that no metal is exposed to possibly damage an expensive item. I load two-three bikes on my hitch rack or in the bed of my truck and this cable easily interweaves through all of the frames and wheels for a positive securing with a quality padlock to a somewhat-secure, bolted-on connector on my truck. Like all good cables, this only provides deterrent-level security since it can be cut with the proper tools; however, that is all I need. If you want to secure your bike to a rack outside and go to work or school inside, this is not sufficient on its own, but works well in conjunction with a u-lock (for the frame) and an immovable rack.

Greater than one weekThis cable is very heavy duty... more so than I expected when it was purchased. Still, that is probably good from a security standpoint. I would definitely not buy anything less than 8mm, and this 10mm isnt bad. I use it to lock my Nanuk (hard plastic) case when on job sites. Dont forget that any size cable is easily defeated with a pair of wire snips. The thicker ones just take more time to cut.

> 3 dayIt appears to be well made. The plastic covering on the crimp collars and cable are thick enough to reduce the possibility of scratching things you might string it thru. The length is right for many uses, if its to long just go around the items again to shorten it up. I guess until someone tries to steal what its protecting I cant say its good or bad in the sense of security. Ive not seen any attempt to breach the cable or lock. There again the visual aspect is probably enough to keep my possessions where I left them. Nice product and priced well via Amazon

> 3 dayIve bought a bunch, if you want heavier duty than this, youre going to pay more (so stop looking at this price point).

> 3 dayThis is a hardcore lock loop. There was no way anybody was getting through this cable. Make sure you invest in a lock as sturdy as the cable!

> 3 dayAwesome security device, and a bargain. Ive used chains on my rural gate that only the largest bolt cutters could handle. But had them cut. Chains are expensive. The equivalent length of chain was costing me almost twice as much. And cable is almost impossible to cut with almost anything you can hold in your hands. An unexpected improvement over chain is the sleeve. Not only does it protect from rain, but it makes removing and replacing the chain on a metal gate a less than nerve-rattling experience. The cable is also lighter than the equivalent chain, which can be a real issue with a heavy chain of same length. Saved me a lot of cash and I dont think I will be having so many break-ins.

> 3 dayNice length of sturdy cable for locking items in my covered truck bed. Used this on a cross country trip to secure my 2 generators and spare propane tank in my truck bed. The bed is covered with an aluminum bed cover, so my gear is out of sight. Anyone who wanted to steal my stuff could mangle the bed cover and cut the cable, but thieves tend to not steal what they dont see. And you wouldnt rip open the cover and cut the cable without me and the dog knowing it.

> 3 dayI needed a cable to wrap around a concrete column in my condo parking deck for my electric scooter. Works perfect!
