I use these all over my house. Every room I walk into has automatic lights, and changing the brightness/color of these lights is really advantageous for me. My only complaint is that I wish they could come down in price, but since there’s nothing to compete with these, I‘ll bite the bullet. They last a very long time and work wonderfully!

Some colors do not work. Good otherwise.

Great product. I personally use with my Google Home and Home Mini but I hear good things when using with Alexa. To get the most out of them you want to use these with an assistant however the hue app by itself offers some great features.

    Greater than one week

Difficult at first to set up only because there are few steps you have to take but once set up its amazing. The colors are bright and vibrant and the app works great. Highly recommended for anyone looking to spice up their rooms.

This is our second set of smart light bulbs and first one from Philips Hue. We have iPhones and iPads almost everywhere in the house (an iPad for each one and an iPhone for each adult) so we dont need to invest in extra voice control devices ( the idea of buying an Echo for each room sounds awful, though currently we have one in the kids room and I like it). Before having this Hue Starter Kit, as most people considering their 1st smart light bulbs, I didnt understand either why a hub (or bridge) is required while some light bulbs say they dont need to. So I purchase my first set of smart light bulbs from another brand, without a hub and claiming it supported Siri. But it didnt have a HomeKit code so it was just a fake ad. As a tech guy (installed all kinds of hardware and software in data center for years and also a developer) it took me more than a couple of hours to try all 3 paring methods to make it work with Alexa, and it was super annoying and felt unsafe to be asked to share my location all the time, not to mention I also had to input my complicated wifi passcode several times for a single try. The Philips Hue Hub, originally just for Siri control, tuned out a big surprise. It made it super easy to setup, almost worked out of box. All you need to do is to read a few lines of instruction, plug in two cords (power and network cable) and scan HomeKit code from your iPhone. The only difficult part for me was to find where the HomeKit code was among a mass of words and numbers on the hubs body. But that was all. Before purchasing, I was worried about the light bulbs in this starter kit were previous version and not white ambience as a couple of reviews pointed out. When they lighted up I found 2700k color was perfectly for me, both in living room and bedroom. Plus the watts is even slightly bigger than the current version which has a flat top and bluetooth. I even prefer this version over the bluetooth version if next time I need more bulbs because of the brightness. What a great deal that you get the hub and the lovely bulbs for just a bit more than 60 dollars. Highly recommend it especially if you want to utilize Siri you already have and dont want to waste your intelligence on figuring out how to connect a single bulb to your wifi for multiple bulbs.

Love these lights for changing from blue light in the morning and orange at night. Also fun for parties. Colors are vibrant although not as bright as I’d like at times.

Love the flexibility and ease of use. Also love being able to control lights when away on travel. Makes me lazier than I already am by being able to turn the lights off/on while sitting in my recliner.

Bridge dependent which limits use and connectivity. Also pretty pricey...Best if budget allows more than a few.
