Installation takes only a matter of minutes Not accurate. It can take quite a while. In my case, I had to go against the grain so to speak with the support beams in my garage. Therefore had to go to hardware store, buy a mounting board, and attach it to the ceiling in my garage, then attach this to the piece of wood that was installed. All said, about 3 hours. Like the other reviewer said, replace the screws that come with it. I bought stainless steel bolts to go with the mounting board..

Put up 2 hoists for our bikes. Easy to install and easy to raise and lower the bikes. does the job. Hope the rope doesnt break and let the bike fall on my car.

Great storage solution and even better when I realized you have to pull cord in opposite direction to lower bike. Easy install.

This is a great lift. I bought one at first and it worked so well that I purchased a second for my wifes bike. Easy to instal and use. Great to get the bikes out of the way to free up more space.

Looked at many types of solutions to store bikes while not in use and that anyone in my family could use. Started with hooks from ceiling, but only I could reach them. Looked at bike stands, but that still took up valuable floor space. I have 10 foot garage ceilings and a 3rd stall where they would fit perfectly! Installation took less than an hour. I installed 3 of these and the last one took only about 30 minutes to install. A electonic stud finder helped greatly and drilling a pilot hole helped keep the screw from stripping out when drilling. These arent the best quality screws, very easy to strip out. Overall, couldnt be any happier and I have my floor space back!! :-)

Great solution for hanging bikes. The bikes all hang nicely on the pulleys.

The hardest part was finding the studs and determining the best place to hang the bikes (considering where cars park, foot traffic, etc.). We bought 2, and the first one took a couple hours to put up (due to stated concerns), the next one took just 30 minutes! Bikes go up and down easily. Built-in brake is a major plus for lowering, but you still want to use the wall hooks during normal hanging.

I have used this bike lift for 1 1/2 years and it has stood the test of time. I dont put it through its paces very often as my bike tends to stay stored more than it is ridden. Nevertheless, this lift holds the bike securely. It just took me a bit to figure out how to lift both ends of the bike at the same time. This involves using the cord locking mechanism properly. Price was unbelievable, so all in all, well worth the money.

This is my third mount and works as advertised and locks and unlocks easily.

As everyone has mentioned, the rope for this product is fairly cheap - but it works. You can replace it with a better quality rope fairly easily if you feel the need. I actually used this to store a battery operated childs car (the big two-seater plastic Barbie corvette). Since this product is made for bicycles it would not hook on to the car very wheel. I built a rectangular frame out of 2x2 boards that my daughters can park the car over, and then the hooks slip into loops of rope attached to the frame. Works great for what I needed. ***NOTE: Some reviews have mentioned the side holes on the bracket wont allow you to hit the joist youre hanging the bracket from because the holes are spaced to far apart. The instructions explicitly say that these side holes are only to be used if the joists are perpendicular to the direction youre mounting the brackets; theres nothing wrong with the design. You can still use these holes to angle screws into the joist for added support, and I recommend getting better quaility screws than originally came with the product.
