> 3 dayThis device takes awhile to learn. Have patience and nothing happens fast with it. Tech support will chat with you but ends the conversation quickly and nothing is resolved. I found out that with this device when you click to start transferring media, be patient. It will take time to start up. I mean awhile. I have an I7 processor with a new laptop. Shouldnt be that way.

> 3 dayThe parent company for the Roxio VHS to Digital file converter is Corel, which also owns the Pinnacle Dazzle product. There are compatibility issues with this product, but once loaded it works as advertised. 1. The product will not load on the HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 10 on 10th gen i7 processor with Intel graphics chipset. However, it did load successfully on the HP Notebook running Windows 10, 7th gen i7 processor with Intel graphics chipset and on the Asus X515 laptop running Windows 11, 11th gen i3 processor with Intel graphics shipset laptop. 2. Although the software is to be downloaded from the Roxio online store, the version that is available fore download is obsolete so you have to download a 2nd program after the initial software download/install. Corel could have made this a 1 step download process from their website instead of making it a 2 step process. 3. Format for the imported file is MPEG 2 compatible, so must download the MPEG 2 video extension from the Microsoft Store before the laptop can play the file.

> 3 dayI bought this product because I recognized the Roxio brand name from software bundled with past PC purchases. The USB video converter appears to work adequately; color reproduction is better when using S-video input, as might be expected. The software has the feel of something from the 1990s, with a poorly designed user interface. It installed properly on a Windows 10 machine, and does allow video capture. I used the system only to capture video to file, for archiving and possible later edit. Problems I encountered: - Check for updates initially appeared not to respond, then later reported Download failed explaining that FLEXnet Connect servers were unavailable. I never succeeded in determined if software updates were available. - Software did not remember a default choice of recording aspect ratio, so it was necessary to remember to select 4:3 when capturing from VHS tapes. - Recording must be started manually by clicking on the Record button. This may mean that the first few seconds of a video are not captured. However, the ignore gaps feature is useful when several segments have been recorded on the same source media, with no video signal in between. - Capture to file failed when I attempted to remove the beginning seconds of a capture; however clipping the end of a recording did work. - It is possible to separately capture several video segments and render them to the same file or DVD. Default output quality appears to be 8 Mbps. When rendering a single video sequence to file at default quality, processing was quite rapid; however, when concatenating two or more sequences, rendering inexplicably took far longer. - Documentation is made available in the application by clicking ? buttons; however, generally documentation is sketchy. For example, the Audio normalize option in Preferences is not clearly explained. I used this application only to capture VHS videos to file, so I cant comment on recording to DVD.

Greater than one weekBought to convert old VHS tapes. Tried to download the software. I have newer laptop with windows 10. Could not get past first screen because I got message to plug in Roxio hardware even though it was plugged in. I unplugged and tried different usb. Same message. I started a chat with Roxio which after awhile led to them creating a ticket and note tech would call. I called product support and that ended the same with new ticket. Both tickets were acknowledged and I was requested to send a description of the issue. No response on either for over 24 hrs and then received another email asking me to describe the issue. Very disappointed and I am now beyond my return window.

> 3 dayI have been fighting with this since July 15th! When I first set it up I was able to convert 3 short videos before I got the blue screen of death and that was the end of it. No matter what I tried there was no way it would find the video. Trying to get in touch with Corel Roxio support is impossible! If you are lucky enough to get into the chat line and they dont disconnect you before you can tell them you need support they will tell you they are not support and just give you a ticket number and tell you someone will email you in 4 to 5 hours. I got 1 email after 4 chat requests asking me to send invoice, picture of the box..all sides, the paper work included, UPC code and the device, a screen shot of the error and a detailed description of the problem. Ive sent the email with all they asked for 4 times and still have not heard back from the support desk. There are drivers missing in the software that you will not be able to install to make this work so why they would tell everyone that this is Windows compatible I dont under stand. Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus is anything but easy and is a waste of money AND time. At one time Roxio made really great programs but since Corel bought its not worth wasting time on.

> 3 dayI have 40 VHS tapes I need to rip to digital, and I hoped this would be my solution. Ive owned Roxio products before, and liked them, which is why I bought this based on the rating and the Roxio name. Wrong choice for me. I installed on a fully updated Win10 laptop, hooked everything up, and the program indicated No video signal, but I could hear the audio from the VHS tape I was attempting to rip to digital. I followed every step in the Roxio troubleshooting guide to solve this, to no avail. Checked all drivers, tried another VCR, tried 3 sets of RCA cables. A few hours wasted. Then I read some of the reviews here, that Win10 wasnt well supported. I had an old Win7 desktop that I fired up and updated everything (to the extent you can). Installed the SW, connected the HW, and in this case, I had video, but no audio. Again, spent a lot of time searching for a solution, to no avail. Another few hours wasted. I suppose that I could have gone through the Amazon chat/phone support, but ya know, Ive built my own computers for over 20 years, installed hundreds of products and peripherals, and helped dozens of people solve their Windows/app issues, and Ive only had to contact support once. I was actually going to try this on one of my MacBooks, but that apparently would have been another purchase. Nope. I returned the item for refund, and have ordered another item which doesnt require a computer at all for capture. Much more expensive, but I need to start ripping these tapes! This is just my experience, and many reviewers love this product. Im truly happy for them, but Im sad that this particular Roxio product did not meet my expectations.

> 3 dayIt worked fine for digitalizing my home movie coming off my VHS player and running it into my Mac. The rest of the features apparently did not down load. I had no way to edit the movie, add voice overs, and so forth let alone burn the final edited movie to a DVD. I called the phone number and the person assigned me a Corel case number. I got an email from them saying thanks and someone will get back with you and no one has. Im getting ready to send it back for a refund. I went to a local store that had this on the shelf and was told it wont work on a MAC so thats been the problem. Looks like Roxio could make that clear to start with. The device works fine for digitalizing and feeding your movie into your computer, then if you already have I-Movie or some other movie editing program, you can do lots of stuff, but if you want to burn your movie to a DVD, this program you have bought from Roxio wont work on your MAC. I discovered that going thru Finder, you can burn things to DVDs, but your movie ends up as a Data DVD and cant be played on a TV. Next stop will be the MAC store up the road.

> 3 dayI worked with their support team for a LONG time and never could get it to work. That included updating all kinds of software and drivers on my PC, even switching to a different PC, and finally getting bumped up to level 2 support. Although their level 2 support seemed really good, one indication of their support structure is that they kept sending me emails saying we havent heard from you in x days. Reply to this email with additional data or to say it is resolved. When I replied to that email, I got an automated email back saying that that email address was no longer monitored and to try contacting them another way!

> 3 dayAfter you figure out the quirks, this product works extremely well. For my first few tries, the audio was distorted. To fix this, I had to do two things. 1) in windows sound properties, I made the volume VERY low (3%). 2) in the vhs software, I made the volume slider also very low (pretty much all the way to the left plus a tiny amount). After that, audio was perfect and surprisingly not as quiet as those settings would have you believe.
