I bought the 12-pack since we have a lot of drawers and cabinets that are within our babys reach. These are great since they can be installed anywhere and not just at the very top of the cabinet. (Yes, we have to use hardware to install these but I prefer this method over the adhesive type which may not be as secure and it can ruin the finish when removed.) The magnetic key also works well and we simply store it on the fridge when not in use.

These locks are easy to install, work on almost any cupboard, and provide a nice snug close. Without the magnetic key, doors do not come open easily or are able to be forced open. Additionally locks provide an alternative, always unlocked feature with a simply push button. Highly recommend product for potential customers.

My kids were able to open every other type of lock (including the ones for refrigerators and toilets). The magnet locks are the only type they couldn’t get past without a magnet. Only downside - no magnets can be on the fridge LOL as my kids figured out other magnets work when they can’t find the magnet “key”. They’re 5 and almost 10 now and the locks are still working for us. Highly recommend!! Fingers crossed the cable magnet lock for the refrigerator works just as well as we still find the need to keep the kids out of the food in the cabinets and freezer (ice cream thieves LOL)

Make sure that you are very comfortable with a power drill and have a gentle hand before endeavoring to install these. It is a tricky to install and the instructions arent super clear. But once you get them in place, they are fabulous. I love that we can leave them unlocked when our baby isnt around and lock them when he is here. And the magnet idea makes it really easy to open once you figure out the invisible spot to place it on at the door.

I got tired of coming home to a kitchen with trash scattered all over the floor so was looking for a way to make the cabinets below the sink secure without having to stick a chair in front of the sink to block my dogs access. The cabinets dont have doorknobs, so I couldnt use the cheap twist-tie versions. I like that my sink is metal because I can stick the key to it without worrying about losing it. I also like being able to disable it just by flicking the grey tab on the side. When I am home my dog will not go dumpster diving so on the weekends I keep it unlocked so I dont have to wrestle with the key to throw trash away. This makes it good for people having multiple children- keep it locked when there is a toddler, unlock it when toddler gets older without having to uninstall, then relock it when next toddler comes along. Fortunately my dad came up that weekend because if it was a pain in the *** for him to install them I bet I would have given up. He is very handy but it still took him over an hour to install. The directions were not clear enough, so I found a youtube video which demonstrated how to install them. My dad said it was very helpful.

The installation of these locks needs to be fairly precise and it took me about 10 - 12 minutes per drawer/cupboard but it was totally worth it. I love that theres no risk of fingers getting pinched in slightly open doors and that Ill never have to uninstall them because of the disable switch. Just inspect the locks and your cupboards for a while before getting started to REALLY understand the way they install and operate. I noticed that the printing on the template for the latch was a little off so I managed to adjust where I was marking the cupboard to drill the holes. Also, dont try to mark the locations for holes with a pencil as they suggest. Use an awl, or if you dont have one, a big nail or screw should do the trick. Also, always check where youve marked by holding up the lock or latch to make sure the marks align with the holes. I have one place where I need to fill a hole and try again because I marked it badly.

My son HATES these. He is currently on a mission to figure out how the keys work. I caught him with one the other day, rubbing it all over the door (on the wrong side, luckily). He gave up in a huff and dropped the key. I guess its just a matter of time, but so far he hasnt been able to pry the doors open or figure out the system, and that has made out live SO much easier...

We like these so much we have purchased them three different times and have them on all the lower cabinet doors in our house. We have a very curious and adventurous 20 month old and these have worked wonderfully to keep her safe (and keep us sane). They are sturdy and professional looking. The magnet locking system gives it a cleaner feel rather than having to wedge your fingers in between the door to unhinge the lock. Theres also no way to open these doors as a child outside of tearing off the mechanism (which if installed correctly would be very difficult to do). The BEST thing about these locks though is that they can be disengaged without dismantling anything. There is a little button that will set it to unlock so if the kids are gone or you have company over you dont have to continue to use the magnet key to unlock. Also nice if your oldest child no longer messes with the cabinets, but then you have a second who has started to become inquisitive. Rather than reinstall new locks, just flip the switch! The biggest and only con I have with this item is that they are kind of a pain to install. The angles with which you are drilling are a little hard on the body. Once youve installed about 20 of them you get pretty efficient at doing it. However, that doesnt mean a few choice adult words arent used during their installation.

Installation directions are terrible. They skip an important detail. Had to move the first one three times. By the the third lock I got the hang of it. Hopefully I will keep track of the magnet. I like the lock, unlock feature for when my grandchildren are not here.

These locks are great and very easy to install. They keep my 15 month old son out of the kitchen cabinets especially the cleaning products cabinet. I love that the locks can be set to lock or unlock with the flip of a button on the lock itself, so when he gets older and we dont have to worry about his getting into the cabinets we can leave them unlocked instead of having to take the locks off.
