Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

Got this for 2012 macbook pro. Used cloning software to transfer everything over to this new drive before installing. This is super fast and it fit like a glove.

Product as good as described. The seller replied to me soon after I messaged them to ask some questions about the shipping, the SSD got here safe and sound and hasnt shown any issued working with my iMac (late) 2009, it gave a much needed boost for the poor thing!

I fixed up my fathers computer last weekend as his current system was having issues, and after Id done some work it was fairly clear that his slow HDD was the culprit. Unfortunately the one I got from Amazon was DOA and wouldnt connect through the 2.5 to USB cord I had nor the one I got from Best Buy (for $30...shudder), but I got another version of the same hard drive from a place which shall go nameless. Once I hooked the new drive up it connected right away to the Samsung software, I cloned the drive, installed it, and my Dad was back in business.

The delivery was fast and neatly packaged, Installation was a bit tricky but once installed my computer got quite the needed boost in this regard.

Great drives, fast, dependable

I installed this in my 2009 iMac to replace a dying Hard Drive. And what a difference it makes, feels like a new computer. I also had to buy a 3.5 to 2.5 adaptor and (on this iMac) a temperature sensor cable. But install was easy, reformatted for Mac and installed a new MacOS and works like a charm. I also bought one for my MacBook Pro and that was just a few screws, Initialize drive, install MacOS and again feels like a new computer.

For whatever the price you buy this, you will be astounded by the increase in speed in your computer from boot-up to loading programs over your mechanical hd. Data migration with Samsung software was a snap using a separately bought usb to SATA cable. Installation was simple and if in doubt, Im sure there is a youtube video on how to make the swap on your particular computer. I have to order a new battery so I cant comment on extended operating life, if any, but Im told it will be significant.

Purchased for my sons computer. Had to watch a few videos to install (didnt want to make a mistake), but after getting comfortable. It was really easy, and he was up and running in no time, plus the drive is super fast!

Samsung has really stepped up their game with their SSDs. The pc I installed this 860 Evo is used primarily for image editing and doc writing. With the additional ram added, this pc is better than new. It installs easily with the 2.5 to 3.5 plate and the holes line up perfectly.
