Very nice so far, its not as big as I thought

I have found this to be great bio media even if very over priced considering its just pumice. You never have to replace it so bite the bullet and just buy it. I dont understand however, why Ive read reviews that said someones tank water cleared up after using this? This provides biological filtration, not mechanical filtration and as such it detoxifies the ammonia and nitrite produced by fish waste and rotting food. Sponges, filter pads and filter floss are what produce clear water.

For the average fish tank owner ignorant to basic chemistry, this stuff is magic. For the enthusiast who knows how to at least titrate water parameters, this is your product. Per square inch of de-nitrifying bacteria colonization (internal and external) its the better cost effective product on the market. Plus like most Seachem products I use (Purigen, Phosguard, Cuprisorb); you never have to replace it. Perfect H2O!

I really like these they feel like good quality and look and feel very pourus. My water parameters have been good so I think its safe to assume these are working. Also its seachem, their known for reliable products.

Reduced a lot of algae issues in my 10g saltwater tank.

I bought this product after using three or four different brands/kinds of media and this is by far the best. The pebbles are larger than I expected, but the bottle says that it never needs to be replaced and that it can be rinsed without depleting all of the bacteria culture. I used MicroBacter 7 for two weeks to culture the media and I have had absolutely no problems with my nitrate or nitrite levels. When it gets dirty I rinse it with cold tap water and it does not seem to affect it at all - it still works well to reduce toxins even after rinsing. Highly recommended.

It is as described. Works well and does its job, but it is very expensive considering what the product is.
