Seachem Matrix Bio Media 250ml

I purchased the 250ml size, it treats 50 gallons. I bought 3 mesh zipper media bags and divided this between my 2 ten gallon tanks and my 1 twenty gallon tank. I replaced my activated carbon in my aqua clear with the Purigan bag and then used the matrix to replace my aqueon stock filter insert. Then in my 10 gallon tanks I added a bag of maxtrix in addition to the stock filter that came in my top fin filter.

This product isnt very consistent. Honestly you would fair better by placing lava rock in your filter. I ended getting stones that had very little porous surface. Also media took forever to cycle. I think the claims by manufacturer are a bit off. Id place this just below bio balls in terms of effective bio media. I think even a sponge would be better.

My African cichlids feel like they are home

I have a 5 gal. and two ten gallons the nitrites was were high in all but the 5 gallons since my guppy, platy and dalmation females are now all on their second set of fry other than the last fancy guppies I purchased, this is her first set staying in touch with Seachem customer support using Stability, Seachem Prime every 48 hrs. my last tank which I started with some polyester from my filter.the old gravel and Seachem Bio Media having the last 10 gal. tank one week my tank was very cloudy looked at it and wow its sparkling and all four fish tanks nitritite are zero&Sparkling Ive been in the hobby one year the best thing I could have ever learned was about the Seachem products from the fish club Im in. did you know the 250L bottle of Seachem Prime Lasted one year ,communicating with Seachem customer support, having products that I know are keeping my beautiful fry happy&healthy! Thanks Amazon for getting my orders to me right way Ive worked hard, studed hard still learning sit at home on my computer, make my order and you get what I need to me fast.

Seems to be working. Will know best with next test.

I really like these they feel like good quality and look and feel very pourus. My water parameters have been good so I think its safe to assume these are working. Also its seachem, their known for reliable products.

I bought this and I dont see much results. I think Im going back to the usual dark charcoal filters.

This supposed to be one of the best. Just be careful you dont get a return that was swapped out with fake heavy rocks! As long the rock are porous and light they as good.
