> 24 hourMany reviewers reported difficulty getting these to connect to the network. I had the same problem, which makes me feel a little dumb for ignoring the reviews. After an hour of playing with it, I finally got one to connect to my network and to connect to Alexa. It was a frustrating hour. The font used in the paper directions that came in the box was too small for me to easily read, even with a magnifying glass. The first page did have a note that if you cant read the instruction sheet, the instructions are available online. They gave a website, which did not contain instructions for this product. In fact, I couldnt find instructions for this model anywhere on their website. And when installing it using their app, this model isnt listed as any of the ones available for installation. If youre willing to play around with it, you can probably make it work, but if youre looking for a plug-and-play smart plug, this isnt it.

> 24 hourWanted something that could control our non-smart bulb lamps. These were the right choice to go with, easy to pair with our wifi and alexia. Definitely a set and forget item. Have had zero problems with them since we installed them.

> 24 hourMy l;ow rating had nothing to do with the quality of the product. It just ABSOLUTELY must have a 2.4 GHz network. I have a 5 GHz network and it will not work. Im sorry I couldnt use it because it reads as if it would be perfect for my needs.

> 24 hourGot it set up and working with my Alexa devices, but not as easy as the Amazon plugs. First you have to download the HBN app and create an account. Then you plug in the plug, find your network- you MUST have a 2.4 Ghz network if you only have 5 Ghz it wont work - enter the password for your network, then hit reset on the plug and search for it in the app. Once its found youre good to go. Now you have to go the Alexa app, enable the HBN skill, go to games and skills, find the hbn skill, click on it, and search for devices until it finds the plug. Mine found it on the second try. If you want to name the plug you must do so in the HBN app. So there you go, if it was an Amazon plug it would set itself up on your Alexa network immediately. Now that its setup it works just fine. If its worth it to save a few $$, and you are ok with the extra setup steps, its a good product.

> 24 hourI was unable to get the app that comes with it to recognize it- which then made my Alexa app not useable. So I cant really say- but if nothing else the ability to set it up was not there. so as a normal plug with a on off I guess its ok.

> 24 hourI bought this when I wanted to automate the Christmas tree light since we can hardly see any of it in daytime and I dont want to keep going back to the back of the tree to unplug/replug it every day. It works very well for that purpose. I used Android app called Smart Life to connect to it. It was very easy to do. It has manual on/off, schedule of when you can turn it on/off, and even random function, if Im not mistaken, to simulate someone in the house when you are away. It has audible click on the device when it turns on/off. Other than that, its a silent operating outlet. My only concern is whether the electrical savings from auto on/off is greater than the WiFi component of it to justify using one. I would say that this device is good enough to use if your outlet is very tedious to access or you need timer for when certain things need to be on/off.

> 24 hourthe form factor is a little too bulky which makes it hard to fit two in one outlet. The 2.4 Ghz only connection was not easy to setup. Thats unfortunate since pretty much everything uses 5 Ghz now. I ended up just disabling the 5Ghz connection... set up the plugs ... and then reenabled the 5 Ghz connection.

> 24 hourSo versatile! I have 3 different vehicles with block heaters, one at a different residence. (One is actually a different model for outside use.) It’s super easy to adjust on off time, or just start and set a timer to shut off for one-off use. Useable for any place with wifi; no more manual digital timers except for back up. Easy to set up Easy to program Remote operation! Different models all displayed together with Smart Life app. These only work with 2.4 GHz wifi, both networks I have them on our fortuitously set on 2.4G. 4-pack is ridiculously cheap, glad I got them.
