> 3 dayheadline says it all - devices seem to work as well as any wifi device, ie, with a good 2.4gHz connection, just fine. But rather than clutter my phone with each manufacturers app, the smart life app works fine with every wifi device I have. And no, Im not affiliated in any way with smart life, but I like to spread the word when something just works.

> 3 dayMany reviewers reported difficulty getting these to connect to the network. I had the same problem, which makes me feel a little dumb for ignoring the reviews. After an hour of playing with it, I finally got one to connect to my network and to connect to Alexa. It was a frustrating hour. The font used in the paper directions that came in the box was too small for me to easily read, even with a magnifying glass. The first page did have a note that if you cant read the instruction sheet, the instructions are available online. They gave a website, which did not contain instructions for this product. In fact, I couldnt find instructions for this model anywhere on their website. And when installing it using their app, this model isnt listed as any of the ones available for installation. If youre willing to play around with it, you can probably make it work, but if youre looking for a plug-and-play smart plug, this isnt it.

> 3 dayThe smart plugs are working fine now but the set up was difficult and the documentation poor. 4 of the 6 plugs would not work with their Auto Scan set up and had to be added manually. That wasnt difficult but the documentation was not good so there was some trial and error. Also, where you have to select the model of smart plug there are about 8-10 choices and none of the info listed matched what was printed on the plugs. Again, poor documentation, mismatched information. Two phones could not scan the QR codes on the devices so that was not an option for set up. Needs work.

> 3 dayI first spent money on this company’s outdoor steak/extension/timer and loved it so much that I bought a second one and then bought these two plugs so that I can plug my indoor Christmas lights that I have in two of my windows into. These are awesome because you can download the product’s app and easily schedule when you want your Christmas lights to turn on and then turn off. Some nights I fall asleep early and then the lights are left on so these timers have helped tremendously! The app is super user friendly too! With these plugs you could also connect your Christmas trees into them and set them on a timer, and any other lights or devices that you want to set on a timer schedule to turn off and on. I would highly recommend!!

> 3 dayI bought this when I wanted to automate the Christmas tree light since we can hardly see any of it in daytime and I dont want to keep going back to the back of the tree to unplug/replug it every day. It works very well for that purpose. I used Android app called Smart Life to connect to it. It was very easy to do. It has manual on/off, schedule of when you can turn it on/off, and even random function, if Im not mistaken, to simulate someone in the house when you are away. It has audible click on the device when it turns on/off. Other than that, its a silent operating outlet. My only concern is whether the electrical savings from auto on/off is greater than the WiFi component of it to justify using one. I would say that this device is good enough to use if your outlet is very tedious to access or you need timer for when certain things need to be on/off.

> 3 dayI needed a way to turn off my bedroom lamps, which I can’t reach well from bed. I’m of an older generation less well-versed in modern options, so I googled lamps that turn on and off with clapping. (Shoutout to fellow children of the ‘80s.) This smart plug came up in searches and I thought, well, duh. I bought two and they work great. I had no trouble setting them up with the app on my iPhone 13. They’re easy to use and the app is seamless. I’ll consider this brand again when I need more smart devices.

02-04-2025It works with Alexa, however, youll need to download and register for an account in another app. So actually, Alexa does not directly control the plug; Alexa integrates with your third-party account to control the plug,. Im not a big fan of needing another app to set it up, but it works. After its set up, you can delete the Kasa app if desired and it still works with Alexa.
