these were very difficult to get the app to recognize, and i finally gave up and instead used an app that i use daily (atomi) to get them to work. used one for xmas tree, another for outside xmas lights. one is being used on a compressor in my garage, it pulls close to 1500 watts on startup and have had no problems with it. they have a lot of features and work well especially for the price. if you can get past the point where they are recognized by your chosen app, they are great. recommend.

To create the account It asks for a cell number, you wont get the code if you are not in the U. S. I wanted to use them with alexa =(

These are a little bigger than I thought but work perfectly for the Christmas lights and the timer setting comes in handy. Only draw back is you have to download the hbn app, they dont connect to Alexa without doing that 1st. Other brands I have been able to connect with Alexa with adding another app to my phone. But needed if you want to use the timer option.

I used them for Christmas tree lights and around fireplace and in the movie room. I enjoy the ability to program start and stop time. The app function is cool too. Gives users the ability to make changes to auto schedules.

I dont like how these only work with Alexa and its not easy to get programed...but also, Im a little technology challenged sometimes. But the ones Ive got to use with Geeni work much easier.

This is an update to my original review. I have seen in the questions and answers section that many people have problems with this device. They say things like “there is no timer, I couldn’t get it to work, it’s useless I put it in a drawer.” I will be 77 yrs old in April and I installed it and it is an amazing device. For a timer function you must download an app, on an iPhone, from the App Store. The one I use is Smart Life. The timer function is truly unbeatable. To install this you need, as stated in the device description, a 2.4 GHz network on your router. Many routers, such as mine, are dual band. No problem. If your router has only 5 GHz, I have seen on YouTube there is a way to cause the router to default to 2.4 GHz. I cannot attest to that, so take it with a grain of salt. If you have access to 2.4 GHz and use the correct WiFi password during setup you should have no trouble using this smart socket.

This was 1000% amazing. I bought it in January, and it died in April. When I unplug it from the wall I hear somethings loose inside like it broke. It worked yesterday and then it just didn’t. However this is such an amazing product that I ordered another one. Since I gave the review the Company reached out to me and offered a full refund. I’m more than happy to try it again because it really is a great product.

I have bought 2 sets of 4 plugs and 3 of the first 4 were an easy set up but the 4th is not working. Ordered another set of 4 and the first one I tried to set up is still not working.

headline says it all - devices seem to work as well as any wifi device, ie, with a good 2.4gHz connection, just fine. But rather than clutter my phone with each manufacturers app, the smart life app works fine with every wifi device I have. And no, Im not affiliated in any way with smart life, but I like to spread the word when something just works.
