The sound quality is among the beat I’ve tried. there are 2 issues though, it is extremely uncomfortable on my head which is normal to large I would say and the LDAC bitrate mode selection is not remembered by the device so after each reconnection it is reset to the default mode (which is balanced mode: between speed and quality). regarding the fit, it press way to hard against the skull part and I can’t stand having it on my head for more than 15 minutes. it sucks, I really wanted it to work.

i was on the fence about buying these; but they’re amazing and worth the price. only con is not being able to fold them for travel; other than that the sound is amazing

I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s one of my most prized possessions. I bought a pair of Bose headphones before this one. I prefer the noise cancellation that Bose has, but I wanted them specifically for listening to music and Sony is where it’s at in that aspect. I love music and it’s a big part of my life. These headphones are perfect!

Noise cancelation is amazing. The battery life is amazing ! I use them daily for work. Sound quality is good but I do wish they went louder because I like my music LOUD. Design is beautiful, I’m very happy with them.

Im a headphones fiend, have probably owned over 70, and these are the most comfortable Ive ever worn. I was impressed with the comfort of the Bose 35ii and Bose 45 but these are next level. Also they do everything theyre meant to: great sound quality, noise canceling, battery life. Some people complain that they dont fold up but I could care less. The only thing Im not crazy about is how they look but thats just my personal opinion, I know many people think theyre stylish. I think they have a Space Balls vibe. But damn theyre great.

First I had the XM2,3,4 so I loved this type of Sony headphones but this is probably last one. Right from the start, it feel cheap. They cut back on material to save cost it seemed. They cut back on feature such as NFC. And you cant fold it anymore with this new design. Initially, you cant turn off adaptive sound control which means the headohone will automatically change noise cancelling to ambient sound base on your action. Look, I only wear this indoor so I always just need Noise Cancelling! Their stupid new tech will always get it wrong and when it changes, it took about 2 seconds. Its very annoying! Edit: Okay, they did update the adaptive sound control so we can in fact leave it to just noise cancelling 100% of the time. But it shouldnt need an update just to do this. Now, finally the nail to coffin is this thing sometimes couldnt stop beeping! With their touchpad control, when you tap left or right of the headphone, you are suppose to hearing a tiny beep as feedback so that youd know you tap it 3 times for example. But on mine, when absolutely nothing is touching those touchpad, it kept on beeping sometimes. In worst case scenario, it beeps hundreds of times per minute forcing me to turn it off and turn it back on to solve it temporarily..... Now, please understand, I went through internets trying to resolved this. People have had this problem on Sonys forum and many others discussion site such as StackExchange and reddit. NO, I cant do anything in option to stop it. My touchpad control option was already OFF. It was always off because Ive never need to use it. The Quick Access settings are always NONE because once again, I never need to change it from Noise Cancelling. Please believe me, Ive search through forums, tried every possible options in the app, NONE of them work.... The only conclusion at the end of every discussion is Sony must update it so that it could be an option from the app. But as of June of 2023, there was no option to turn the beeps off! This of course is deal breaker for me which is a shame because I always preferred Sony NC and sound quality and the XM5 sound quality is great when it wasnt interrupted by uncontrollable beeping. I believe Ill try Bose next year.

The noise cancellation is insane to me. I brought them on a road trip where noise and screaming is prominent and by my surprise canceled it like crazy. And the sound is even better. Just in all a great pair of headphones. 10/10 would recommend buying them.

I bought these headphones because they are the most recommended bluetooth set on the internet. I guess I just disagree with everyone on the internet because these did not impress me at all. $400 is by far the most money ive ever spent on headphones and these are not even in the top 5 of best headphones ive owned. I have a $50 gaming headset (hyperXcloud) that sound better than these. My airpod pros (2nd gen) also deliver better sound quality. My Between Pros also sound better. Earbuds should not be outperforming the supposedly best headphones on the market. Pros: They are very comfortable and the ANC is among the best on the market. The connectivity and app are flawless. Phone calls are also crisp and clear both ways. Ive had 0 problems with any glitchy stuff happening. Cons: The sound, while clear, is flat and quiet. It honestly sounds like the sound coming out of your phone, just in a headphone enviroment. If you like bass then dont buy these. Im not even a huge bass guy but I like to hear bass where there is supposed to be bass. It sounds like the bass is somewhere far off in a distance. I youtubed all the EQ settings on these and got them to sound fractionally better but nowhere near where a $400 headset should. I know sound is subjective and this is merely my opinion. But after a quick google search of sony XM5s sound terrible there were plenty of others that agree. If these are in fact the best the bluetooth headset market has to offer, then im extremely unimpressed. 3 stars because the connectivity, comfort and ANC is truly top tier. However, the #1 thing a premium headset should do is sound premium. These do not. I will be returning these and looking elsewhere for a headset.

Haven’t had them for long since I only got them in December during the sale, but so far I love them. Aesthetics - the white/grey ones are so pretty! So glad I picked these over the black ones. Comfort - most days I have no problem with having them on for 6-8 hrs (my ears don’t hurt at all, sometimes I forget that I have headphones on), but occasionally idk what it is they feel slightly less comfy. I probably just need to figure out how to adjust them still. Either way it doesn’t really bother me. Also after 6-8 hrs of wearing my ears are not sweaty/there’s no condensation in the cups. Battery life - superb, 10-15% drain per 8 hrs like what everyone says. Charges quickly. Sound - I’m not into headphones and know nothing about sound quality but I like what I hear with these after playing with eq. Operation - speak to chat doesn’t always work but when it does it’s amazing. Taking off headphones sometimes doesn’t pause music for me either. I wish these functions are more consistent and reliable but as they are I can deal. Prior experiences - I’ve pretty much only used headphones that came with Apple devices then AirPods pro. I have not ever owned a proper pair of headphones and got these sonys for function. I liked my AirPods pro enough but I can’t wear them at once for more than 2 hrs, they tend to irritate my ears and slip out after that. Again, so far overall quite happy with my Sonys. Probably won’t pay $400 for them tho.

The sound quality on these is really good, but not exactly up to par with some other comparably priced headphones. The difference really is very small though. The noise canceling and its associated features more than make up for that. If noise canceling is an important feature for you then these are the headphones to get. My favorite thing about these overall is just how comfortable they are. They fit all the way over my ear, which some other brands do not and end up being partially ON ear, which is annoying. The clamping force is fairly light, and the ear cups are breathable enough not to get too hot or sweaty while wearing them. Bottom line - I really love mine.
