I had another, bigger rack that was sticking out too far in my basement storage room. This one has sides on it, where the other rack was wide open. The only holding it back from 5 stars is the price. Its a piece of formed/bent metal with holes in the front for your switches and patch panels. It might cost $40 to actually make it.

So far I am really pleased with this patch panel. The looks are pretty good. It is a nice black and the paint quality seems like itll be free from chips and easy to clean. The installation was really easy. The included instructions have a drill template which lined up perfectly with the wall studs. I was left feeling confident this patch panel was not going to fall off the wall. Im really glad I went with the 8U panel. It was not that much more and it allowed more breathing room for my equipment. One feature I wish this panel had was something to allow for cable management. Perhaps some mounting options to hide long cords and such. I paired this panel with a StarTech 1U vented shelf. I like the resulting look and functionality. I with StarTech made a 2U shelf that was the appropriate depth. Their existing 2U shelf is too deep for this panel. Overall I am very pleased with this panel. I would definitely purchase again.

Well made and easy to install. They include a paper template but...just hold it up to the wall and mark. It includes holes 16 OC, so perfect for 2x4 construction if you have flexibility in your placement to align with the studs. If not, there arent extra holes like most TV mounts which is disappointing. You can always drill through the back. Includes square bracket nuts and matching screws, but not for all 8U positions. I think 6 were included which is more than sufficient for my needs and you can always buy more. The bar going across the top blocks the midpoint of the top 1U. Not a big deal if youre putting a patch panel there. You can also move it to the bottom (dont flip the rack or the ground attach point will be on top).

I purchased this with the 1u rack, a power supply, cable management, 24 port cat panel, 24 POE switch, and two modem lines into one (Peplink) for my home network. That rack holds my two DSL modems, Unifi Dream Machine (not pro), my Pi4 with two external hard drives. Well worth the money. I had to put the support brace on the bottom and flip it around to make use of all my space. Honestly, I dont think the brace is even needed, but thats what I did to not have floating pieces and get the full use.

Seems like a decent deal. Be aware, do not use the screw assembly the send! They do not stay in the square holes, they pop out the back, then if you w as nt yo ever remove the unit from the rack, the screa strips into the nut assembly then you cant get it out. I even tried vise grips to grab the nut from the backside, it was impossible to grab the nut, too tight of space. I tried everything. But eventually, the ears on my dbx compressor took too much stress and broke off. Huge loss for a nut that probably only cost a penny. Anyways, buy aftermarket assemblies before screwing in your units....

For under $50, I didnt expect this sturdy of a product. The top brace probably does a lot for the awesome rigidty. It also came fully pre-assembled, which I didnt expect. I simply pulled it out of the (huge) box and screwed it to the wall! It came with nice self drilling anchors which will ensure it stays in your wall if its not mounted straight into studs. I chose to use the 16 screw spacing to mount it straight into two wall studs for ultimate durability. All the holes lined up great too - I had zero issues rack mounting my equipment.

Recent versions of this have the holes 16-inches on center for stud-mounting and it makes a difference. Extremely sturdy for my shallow depth networking equipment.

Excellent construction. It works well for patch panels, power, and maybe a CloudKey, but it won’t work for long equipment like an NVR or full server
