Greater than one weekThese racks are never a complete breeze to install but this was not too bad at all. Well built!

Greater than one weekDecent quality, good value but doesnt include necessary hardware to fill the 6u. Only includes half the hardware needed to be able to fill rack.

> 3 dayThis rack was super easy to install. It’s very sturdy, but just make sure you install it via the wood studs. This is perfect for my needs.

> 3 dayI bought this rack unit because Ive started to get some new gear for my personal music/recording studio. I currently have an Avid Eleven Rack and a BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer as rack-mount effects. Let me say this unit is a beast and sturdy as a tank. As shown in the pics, it holds my rack FX perfectly with three additional spaces leftover (the 11 Rack uses 2 spaces all by itself) and still has plenty of room to hold my old Mac Mini and my Behringer audio interface (U-Phoria UMC204HD). The top is open, but I found a perfectly sized spare shelf I had to place my HD monitor on top of the whole setup. The rack unit comes with the stabilizer bar already assembled and everything ready to go. In the fairly large box it came in I received the rack unit, a one-page instruction manual in a plastic binder sleeve, and all the necessary accessories bubble-wrapped and zip-tied to the unit itself. Everything I needed, in other words—with plenty of space for cord management and airflow in the back of the unit. Included are enough rack screws, clip nuts, and washers to install 3 or 4 rack-mount effects. It would be nice if they also included enough for the rest of the units shelf space (6 rack FX in all), but its definitely not a deal-breaker and not worth the removal of a star rating. If youre looking to get into rack-mounted FX for yourself, give this bad boy a try. You wont regret it.

Greater than one weekI had another, bigger rack that was sticking out too far in my basement storage room. This one has sides on it, where the other rack was wide open. The only holding it back from 5 stars is the price. Its a piece of formed/bent metal with holes in the front for your switches and patch panels. It might cost $40 to actually make it.

> 3 dayThis is a great rack in terms of overall appearance and build quality so I can easily recommend it. While the cable management cutouts are not sharp they are still metal and therefore have the potential to damage cables over time. The addition of rubber or plastic grommets here would be a good idea. Also, as others have noted it should come with enough cage nuts to properly complement its 6U size.

> 3 dayThis review is for the 6U rack. The rack is sturdy enough and appears well built. Unfortunately, the included hardware is just 12 screws and 12 cage nuts. Of course, that is not enough hardware to be able to fill a full 6U rack. Should be at least 24 screws+nuts. Does it say just 12 screws+nuts are included? Yes, so buyer beware. I chatted with Mohammed at StarTech support to tell them I needed more hardware for a 6U rack and he declined to help. It says 12 are included so thats all you get. Terrible customer service in my opinion, but theyd rather have me leave a review like this instead of helping the customer. Id look elsewhere for a rack that includes all the necessary hardware.

> 3 dayThis was my first time mounting a wall rack of any kind and I found the StarTech to be very straightforward to install. The wall I used did not have studs on 16 centers so I first mounted a 3/4 plywood backing board with .25x2.5 lag screws and fender washers then mounted the rack to the plywood using the included screws. No problems there. I find StarTechs decision to only include 3U worth of mounting hardware with a 6U rack a little disappointing especially considering how expensive their hardware is to purchase separately relative to their competitors. I think I speak for most when I say that I would gladly pony up the extra couple of bucks that it would cost (even allowing for a 100% margin!) to include a full complement of hardware with the rack.
