Standard 6u rack, works exactly as it should and once its mounted to a wall it is very sturdy. Id recommend it for a home setup for sure.

Excellent construction. It works well for patch panels, power, and maybe a CloudKey, but it won’t work for long equipment like an NVR or full server

Ive spent a decade designing and building various sized racks of computer equipment. I didnt need much for my home network setup but also didnt want to pay an arm and a leg for one either. This was super affordable, had U locations on both rails, included mounting hardware, and is more than sturdy enough. One complaint is the support rail used on top or bottom of rack does cut into the top/bottom U location, so if mounting 3 2U servers, it likely would give you issues.

Decent quality, good value but doesnt include necessary hardware to fill the 6u. Only includes half the hardware needed to be able to fill rack.

Works well and was as described. I am knocking off a star because of two issues. The first is they didnt give enough screws and clips for all the holes. I got 8 sets yet this is a 6U requiring 12 sets to fully populate. REALLY. For the cost of 4 screws and 4 clips they short you. Just charge an extra 1.00. The second is that the metal is just a touch flimsy. Not bad and after mounting it is solid but prior to mounting the rack can be twisted. All in all Im happy.

My first rack and Im super happy. For whatever reason I just wanted walls on the sides, this delivered. I have no idea what the top bar is though? Super sturdy feeling and it doesnt seem it will get scratched up. Get your own rack nuts because all free ones are meh, I expected this though. I built the wood shelving around it. Found out my walls are brutally concave. Without the curve it would have been 20 in and the rack would be so snug. I basically researched every other option on Amazon and this one seemed the best bang for my buck.

This was my first time mounting a wall rack of any kind and I found the StarTech to be very straightforward to install. The wall I used did not have studs on 16 centers so I first mounted a 3/4 plywood backing board with .25x2.5 lag screws and fender washers then mounted the rack to the plywood using the included screws. No problems there. I find StarTechs decision to only include 3U worth of mounting hardware with a 6U rack a little disappointing especially considering how expensive their hardware is to purchase separately relative to their competitors. I think I speak for most when I say that I would gladly pony up the extra couple of bucks that it would cost (even allowing for a 100% margin!) to include a full complement of hardware with the rack.

Does exactly what you would expect. Comes with enough cage nuts and screws for all spaces. The cross brace at the top was a little annoying and interfered with my PDU so I took it off, but theres more than enough lateral strength from all the equipment I put in it. Would buy again.

I was looking for a small rack to mount my keystone panel and rackmount switch and to allow for future expansion of my home network without buying a bigger rack. This rack from StarTech proved to be a great solution. It comes with holes and hardware to wall-mount this item but also a bag full of cage nuts and screws to rackmount plenty of network equipment. I was originally gonna give this item 5 stars but I decided to dock a star for not supporting rackmount cases. I planned on installing a 2U rackmount case into this rack for a computer that will function as an NVR for a future surveillance system, but this rack isnt deep enough. Otherwise, you cant go wrong with this 12U rack from a great company.
