SuperSoftstrand 500-Feet Picture Wire Vinyl Coated Stranded Stainless Steel

I picked up a freshly framed print from a framer friend of mine and noticed how neatly his back wire was wrapped. I asked if he had a machine that does the wrapping so neatly. No, he said he uses this vinyl coated wire and that it just wraps neatly. I exhibit prints throughout the year and frame most of my own exhibit prints because they are fairly straightforward to frame (I give the more artistic frame jobs to my friend the professional) and until this day I had always used the bare stranded steel and not only was it messy, but it often left me with little bloody holes and slices in my fingers. As soon as I got home from the frame shop I logged onto amazon and looked for the vinyl coated wire. My framing life has been changed forever. This stuff is so easy to work with and just as my friend said, it wraps perfectly. I have no cut fingers and the wire feels incredibly secure. I wish I had known about this stuff before now. And this large roll is not going to be finished any time soon so it really is cost effective to purchase the wire this way. As far as I am concerned this is one of those near perfect products. BOTTOM LINE: if you do your own framing you arent going to find a better wire. Dont go back to those uncoated wires

the right thickness for most of my art work, which is on the heavy side. If I need more support I just run another set of d-rings and wire.

The spool was broken when it arrived, but the wire itself is just what I wanted. Cuts well and feels sturdy.

I love this wire. As an artist I frame my own work which includs attaching the wire. I first ran across this wire when I ordered a custom frame and this type wire came with it. FIRST, it is made in the USA!!!! (Support us for a change!) Second, it is very flexible as its many strands of thiner wire cabled together AND Third, its coated with a plastic so that it doesnt break easily and there are no slivers to cut your fingers on when using it. I am proud of my art work and present it in a way that reflects that pride. So I was very pleased to get my hands on some great wire. The one caution, you do not get the exact same weight the picture and discreption say. Its heavier, but not significantly so that it is still great for my use.

I love that it is coated so my fingers dont get chewed up by the metal wire.

Probably more wire than Ill ever need, but having this beats going to the store constantly for those small packs of hanging wire. Identical wire to what I used while working in a frame shop. Easy to work with and sturdy.

Although I had concerns, the wire was very easy to twist around d-rings and held great. The coating is a bonus, provides a smooth finish that is easy on your hands and walls.

Wire is coated which is helpful. Used for hanging pictures.

I absolutely love this. So nice and much easier to work with than traditional picture hanging wire. I will never go back to traditional wire again.
