Really feels more like painted concrete, and its heavier than actual pumice. I dont see it being abrasive enough to trim nails as the coating on it dulls the surface.

My vet remarked how great their feet looked. Trim nails but no redness or sores on the pads. You do have to place them correctly so the rough part hits their nails. The only thing that would make these perfect is if they did a cut on the mount allowing horizontal or vertical mounting. These are the perches they choose to sleep on. Also, they love rubbing their beaks and although their is some roughness it is not like cement so they are not harsh.

My birds love this perch. It is sturdy. They cant bite through it. It helps sharpen their beaks. Would buy again for sure. Its heavy though. Not for a weak cage.

My Citron Cockatoo uses this perch daily. It is constructed well and remains tight and sturdy on her cage. I put it in the dishwasher for regular cleaning.

Extremely heavy perch, arrived broken inside of original packaging with a small amount of a metal coil exposed down center of perch.

Very well built and designed perch. Been in one of B&Gs cages now for a day. At present it is still being treated by her as a paid assassin invading her space, but as with all things parrot related, this too shall pass. I think this will prove to be a great aid in keeping her nails AND beak in great shape.
