I have a dehumidifier in my basement and I was searching for a plug that I could monitor remotely to see if it was running or not. I didnt need the ability to remotely switch on or off (which this does, as does hundreds of other plugs), but specifically needed something to tell me if power was running to the unit (meaning it was on and doing its job). Out of the box, this unit worked perfectly and was super easy to install/download the app. Its been flawless for months now and I finally figured out what was turning off my dehumidifier... it was set to a certain percentage, and when reached, it would shut off. But the problem was that it never turned back on when humidity rose. With this smart plug, I was first able to recognize that no power was running through it, and then was able to turn it on (which I never thought I would use!). Worked perfectly. Hoping this helps someone who has a similar use case as its pretty narrow since it doesnt really use all the features of a normal smart plug.

I had attached this to an insta-hot water dispenser, first left the smart plug remain on 24/7 for a week to obtain a baseline of my hot water dispensers energy usage, then I set it on a schedule to eliminate 10 hrs out of the day, when I wouldnt be needing my HW dispenser and I saw a ±20% reduction in the energy use, so the energy tracking of this smart plug appears to be working fairly accurately. The insta-HW dispenser has a pretty high energy demand to heat/maintain the water to 180°F, so this smart plug is capable/rated for high wattage devices. Highly recommended!

These devices will randomly turn off. Upon research it is common and TopGreener simply tells you to reset the device. The behavior is still present after a reset. There appears to be no rhyme or reason why it is occurring, no warning that it is about to happen. I have lost power to a Harvest Right freeze dryer in the middle of a batch, had I not noticed the pump turning off I may not have checked on it in time to save the food. One has also shutdown for my freezer with over $2k of grass fed beef and free-range chicken. I have had another device just shutdown that my TV was plugged into while I was watching it. Most recently I had one shutdown that my route was plugged into while I was working remote in the middle of a conference call. I purchased these devices to track, in detail, my energy usage and what I go were a bunch of headaches. Bottom line, these products cannot be trusted at all.

They work well! I was hoping the app allowed you to see all data over time, so as to look for power spikes, but the data collection appears limited to total kilowatts. Also, there doesnt appear to be a way to reset data collected, like if you want to start monitoring a different device.

A very simple easy to install wifi device for your home security. We bought multiple timers for different rooms when we were traveling. We were able to manage the device timings and intervals remotely with their app. Supports multiple on/off intervals per day and also different intervals on different days of the week. Good price as well. Awesome product. Just buy it.

I got the two pack of this on a deal. it came out to about $20 each. I like that the set up was easy. The feel of the product seems sturdy and heavy duty. I like that it is 15A and I can run a small space heater on it during the winter. I use it to turn on a lamp in the living room while I am away to let people think that someone is home. The only thing I dont like about it is the size. It is much bigger than I thought it would be. I can see how its size would be a problem if the outlet is near furniture. But once you put it on the wall, you leave it there and you dont think about it anymore.

I ordered this because I wanted to find out how much electricity my pop machine was using, as Im sitting on my couch realizing I dont want to go all the way downstairs to reset my modem because its kind of hard to get to, and the same thing with my TV shoved in the corner, I ordered a couple more. if there is something that you have to power cycle on a fairly regular basis these things are the bees knees!

The 2 smart plugs cam in a very nice and neat cardboard box. I haven’t tried the plugs yet, but I was taking them out of the box, in order to use the first one and noticed that the plastic adhesive that goes over the plugs to keep the pugs clean was dirty. As I was pulling it out, I happened to look at the plastic adhesive and it looked like the person adding there plastic adhesive films to the plugs, must have been stuck to their dirty workbench and then stuck to the plug. All that I would like to say about that is, it would be best to have a clean workplace for that worker, so the adhesive doesn’t look bad. I haven’t unpacked or used the plug yet, so I can’t speak to how good or not the plug is. I will update, once I have pulled the plug out and start working with it.

I bought this primarily to turn on and off pool pumps as well as monitor their energy usage. When I dove into the statistics for energy monitoring I saw my pump is using 2012 mA. That’s 2.012 amps. Volts is 121.3. We know that V*A=Watts. 2.012*121.3 is 245.14 watts. Watts on the app says 146.4. (See pic) So, one of these values is incorrect. I contacted the manufacturer and they said “Currently something is wrong with the calculations, we are working on a solution. I apologize fir the confusion” It took them 2 days to even respond. I have no idea if the kWh is correct since I’m not sure if is based off of watts or volts*amps. I don’t know if any of the numbers are correct since the math says they can’t all be correct. As for the on off functionality it works pretty well. I can control it from my phone. It’s really unfortunate that the energy monitoring does not work though since that’s half the reason I bought it. I can turn my pumps on and off from anywhere though.

Im not a big home automation freak, but I did want my air conditioner to get a head start cooking my room down before I got home. This plug was easy to set up, works flawlessly and is UL rated, which not all smart plugs can claim. Since its a two pack, I put my boot dryer on the other plug. I had the dryer on a mechanical timer and wasted a lot of energy, this plug lets me set scheduling for my work days vs my off days. Its awesome.
