If my local law enforcement used analog radio, but unfortunately, everyone here I found out later is now using digital systems. Everyone that is except for one county sheriff dispatcher about 9 miles away, and she comes in crystal clear. I think this scanner would have worked very well for me here, 20 years ago...

It is annoying that I bought the antenna in the CUSTOMERS ALSO BOUGHT section of Amazon. The included antenna was better than the one I paid an additional amount for. Programing is not the easiest but there are a few Youtube videos out there that helped. I had to reset the memory first by making sure the batteries were taken out, unplugging the unit, holding down the 2,9, and Hold keys while plugging it back in. Once that was done things worked as in the manual and on Youtube. Speaker is plenty loud for my small office and the quality is good. The knobs are solid. The back-light feature is nice. Overall I am happy with the scanner and enjoy the Marine, Ham, FM and Weather stations as well.

Purchased this scannner out of Amazon warehouse at a reduced price. Didnt really have high expectations. Upon arrival it appeared to be brandnew. Even though the original packaging was missing. All external parts were carefully packed in ziplock bags. After programming I plugged unit in and also installed a 50foot external antenna as well for better reception. Upon calibration for maximum rception im picking up depts over 150miles away.

Simple and easy to program. Good for scanning basic police fire and emergency communications. Priority channels easy to program and change. Not much use for alarm clock features but has a timer you can set to turn off when Not in use. 10 banks can be programmed for Priority use or can be turned off in an instant. Good value for the price.

Programming this scanner was so easy!! Absolutely would purchase again!

Works good and has good sound just kinda hard to program unless u are familiar with this stuff.

Delivered today on time and operational within 30 minutes. No frills or add on to this unit like a extended antenna or power source. Open box, read instructions and you are listening ! I have 50+ frequency running after I entered my wanted ones from my list...If you follow instructions every time you cant go wrong. As a firefighter I like to know whats going on in my region... the clear speaker is good, a bit tinny not deep based but is clear to understand. You can enter frequencys to listen to tac units, police, fire. The supplied antenna is good for ranges < 15 miles...otherwise need outside one. The weather/FM radio features are great, have them logged in sec. BUY this scanner I recommend it.
