    Greater than one week

It is annoying that I bought the antenna in the CUSTOMERS ALSO BOUGHT section of Amazon. The included antenna was better than the one I paid an additional amount for. Programing is not the easiest but there are a few Youtube videos out there that helped. I had to reset the memory first by making sure the batteries were taken out, unplugging the unit, holding down the 2,9, and Hold keys while plugging it back in. Once that was done things worked as in the manual and on Youtube. Speaker is plenty loud for my small office and the quality is good. The knobs are solid. The back-light feature is nice. Overall I am happy with the scanner and enjoy the Marine, Ham, FM and Weather stations as well.

This was exactly what we wanted. Being a firemans wife, I like to be able to hear the calls he goes on to know hes safe, get an idea of how things are going to plan for things like dinner or other activities in case hes going to be delayed, and its somewhat entertaining to hear some of the crazy stuff you hear with police communications.

I liked everything about the scanner - like tone ,selectivity ,uniden got all of the things in common in one sector . I think I am a genius ( my girlfriend thinks i am a genius) , but I still havent learned the skills of programming it yet . Ive watched videos , read the instructions and I feel like I am unlearned and experimented with it -but to no avail .I would recommend this to my friends .

Speaker is very poor. Over priced for what you get

The scanner is easy to set up and works very well. Uniden is a good brand. Before this one I had a 16 channel that I got in 1992 and it still works flawlessly. I just upgraded because I wanted something a little newer because my mom wanted the older one

Light weight and easy to program. I found the codes online and in 5 minutes it was set up. I live in a rural area and am able to get everything: fire, ems, state and sherif. I have a hand held radio shack that is 20 + years old. Still love it but I dont like buying batteries for it. Havent needed it for clock or radio but will give it a go. This is great scanner.

The Bearcat BC365CRS is a very nice radio. Listening to Military/Commercial Aviation daily via Davis Monthan AFB from my apartment. Tucson International is just beyond that. While I cant really use an external antenna at the apartment, the standard telescoping antenna supplied gives me a very sufficient signal strength for virtually all my listening. Amateur radio on 2 Meters and on 440 is clear. General Pima County services are quite clear. While the main Tucson Police Department is a trunked 800 MHz system and NOT covered by this radio, the remainder of city services and MedEvac helicopter are interesting to listen to. FM reception is quite adequate. Sound is exceptional considering the size of the speaker. Based on what I hear coming in on the NOAA Weather frequencies - the Mt Lemmon Transmitter is alright but not great quality. This isnt a scanning receiver issue. Their WX transmitter is only marginal. Alarm function is good. Either turn on the radio or tone with enough tone kick to wake anyone up. Compared to a regular Alarm Clock the alarm settings arent as easy to use as a dedicated digital clock though. Search modes by Service and programming those frequencies into memory is pretty straightforward . Five Stars.

So far so good- I got this today and set it up with the local EMS / Weather and programmed in my favorite FM radio stations. Two things that really impressed me was the signal strength- for an antenna thats smaller than most car antennae, this picks up way more than my car ever did. The second thing is the speaker. WOW- this little guy can put out some serious sound. I only have it turned halfway up and I can hear it throughout the entire house. Headphone jack for if you want to plug it up to something larger. The back-light is very nice, and the little things like sleep after 60 minutes, lock out scanning, the 500 (!!) banks of memory to store frequencies, and the auto-EMS/Fire/Weather/Air/Marine/Police scanner function is really cool too if you are unsure of your local codes. This has all the features you want out of a nice scanner for under a hundred bucks. Ive always like Uniden (they made good quality house phones and other electronics) This is of the same type of high quality- the buttons, knobs, everything seem very sturdy. This may be the last scanner I ever need!
