I tried this to help hubby do some office work at home, but on our Macs this took up way too much space and memory. It works, but was glitchy and slow.

Rather use Parelles which I feel works better for me.

Still thinking about switching from your PC to a Mac? Think no more - buy Fusion and you wont have to make that decision. Fusion really does work. Ive been using DOS and then Windows since 1984 (I was only 3) and just couldnt bring myself to give up all the programs and documents I knew so well. Using Fusion, I didnt have to. Here is the great part: the Windows installation is moderately complicated and takes a loooong time to get it all in order, at least for me, but I installed Fusion - about 3 minutes - and then it asked me if I wanted to use Windows and OSX together or separately (I said together because I knew I could use it either way once installed). That was the only question - after that, it went to work and 32 minutes later it booted up and was ready to go.

After resolving some hardware issues (and lack of HDD space) I set about installing VMWare4, which was a breeze, and then Windows XP (one of two legal copies I bought for my kids computers). Theres a USB thumbdrive included for machines that cant read DVDs. Very nice touch.

Memory hog! Works but hate it.

This is very slow to boot up, and is not intuitive like Apple products are, but it sure does make my Mac look like a PC. I view the latter as a definite negative, but I need Windows for an IRS tax program. That program runs flawlessly on my Mac-running-Windows.

This is a great product that does exactly what it says. However, I find myself needing it less and less. Every day less software is Windows only and in fact many products are Mac only these days. The reason I point this out is that I do not feel that I use this software enough to give it a full review that it deserves.

I switched to MacBook Pro from PC laptops (Windows) about 2 years ago and at this time Ive got nothing running on Windows that I need anymore. What does this have to do with this product? Not much except Ive now uninstalled it - so I think its a fair comment to say that these bootcamp type solutions are being needed less and less these days. At least, thats my experience. But if you need one, this works fine - no issues.

VMware Fusion 4 setup was a breeze. I had previously installed it alongside Parallels 7, but since my Parallels VMs were already installed with the requisite Microsoft bloatware, I hardly got any use out of it and continued using Parallels.

VMWare works flawlessly. It lets me run Windows 7 programs on my Mac, just like I would run any other Mac program. No more need to reboot my computer to switch operating systems like I would have to do previously. And no need to jump back and forth between computers during my workday. This saves me time and increased my productivity.
