I have many WD external drives and have had no issues so when I saw the external SSD I had to try it. So far this has been great - it is small, light weight and fast!

No matter how small you think it is, it’s smaller. It’s a solid value for the speed and convenience. This wouldn’t be the right drive for primary storage, but as a portable backup or for a road warrior with tons of extra data to carry around, the drive is perfect. Get a little case for it to keep it with the cable, or just stick an elastic band around both, and you’re ready to go.

My son-in-law suggested this item for backup on my laptop. I was hesitant when I received it because its so small compared to my older desk top model. I was able to easily download all my items and it appears to work great! I wanted something sturdy and reliable and this is the one that he suggested even though it cost a bit more than some other options.

    Greater than one week

I bought three of these to use as convenient backup drives, and theyve served me very well so far. Fast transfer speeds and not a single problem so far -- Ive had them about a year.

This is a great ssd, light and fast, without moving components like normal external hdds that can get scratched or wrecked. If you want a high quality drive to back up to once and then retrieve quickly later with good life expectancy, this is a great bet (if you are over-writing daily or weekly, you probably should skip SSDs). It is, however, pretty expensive. That said, its fairly comparable to similar drives and Western Digital has a long track record of quality. It just is maybe worth looking for this on sale if your need is longer term and not immediate.

Most fastest file transfer with SSD with low price but, its little bigger than I thought. Its size as same as small internal hard drive from a laptop and although it came with USB C to C / A. Just little over sized!

I bought two of these WD 2TB SSD external drives in 2019. I use them for music archiving and playback on my internet radio show. I take good care of them, store them in a cool place, never have dropped them and dont expose them to temperature extremes or crazy high humidity. I can say with confidence that with reasonable care these will give you great, reliable.service for years. On another note I also own an older WD desktop external drive that I bought in 2015...it continues to work well and without issues. As an archivist I always say that if youre going to put all your valuable stuff on external drives, buy two and keep them identical. Never put all your eggs in one basket!

Light and durable. Cheaper than Samsung T5, but the speed is a little slower too. One thing I dont like is that the cable given is too short compared to other brands.

Best SSD I actually have a Samsung and this one but I will always prefer this one I just wish the type C to USB 3 cable was better quality since they already give you a type c to type c cable dont see the need for another 1 using a adapter for the USB 3

Just started using it. It warms way-up. Could be a hand-warmer.
