> 3 dayWhen I contacted WD, I gave them my serial number and they couldnt identify my drive. They said they would get back to me but I havent heard from them. Could this be a faux product?

> 3 dayWow. I was told both by a specialist who upgrades computers and knowledgable friend that using an SDD external drive would not speed up my computer. Wrong. I moved my entire operating system and cloned my internal drive to this thing and it is lightning fast. Apps that used to bounce on my iMac for 15-30 seconds now open almost as fast as they are clicked. Just look up the specs on your computer and make sure you have at least USB 3.0 (thats what I have). Otherwise youll get external bottleneck from the USB connection and it wont make a difference. To reiterate- this thing can make your computer outrageously fast. My internal drive has officially been relegated to the dust bin. I may use it for extra storage in the future.

> 3 dayDrive itself is fast and the transfer speeds are also great. Attached Crystal Disk Mark benchmark as well as the transfer speed of a 102GB file taking only 5 minutes using USB 3.1 (internal storage is SATA so limited by that). Expensive drive but will be very useful. Happy with everything so far.

16-04-2025I bought two of these WD 2TB SSD external drives in 2019. I use them for music archiving and playback on my internet radio show. I take good care of them, store them in a cool place, never have dropped them and dont expose them to temperature extremes or crazy high humidity. I can say with confidence that with reasonable care these will give you great, reliable.service for years. On another note I also own an older WD desktop external drive that I bought in 2015...it continues to work well and without issues. As an archivist I always say that if youre going to put all your valuable stuff on external drives, buy two and keep them identical. Never put all your eggs in one basket!

Greater than one weekThis is a great ssd, light and fast, without moving components like normal external hdds that can get scratched or wrecked. If you want a high quality drive to back up to once and then retrieve quickly later with good life expectancy, this is a great bet (if you are over-writing daily or weekly, you probably should skip SSDs). It is, however, pretty expensive. That said, its fairly comparable to similar drives and Western Digital has a long track record of quality. It just is maybe worth looking for this on sale if your need is longer term and not immediate.

> 3 dayIt is incredibly small and could easily be used as portable storage, not just a backup drive. I have it dedicated to my MBP time machine and just keep it in the case until I am ready to use it. It is a great device, maybe a bit pricey. But, I recommend it.

> 3 dayThis unit comes with a double ended USB C cord and a USB C to USB A adapter. The Read/Write speed using the USB adapter was 444/435.7. One interesting fact is that the adapter that comes with this unit is far superior to aftermarket versions, so dont loose it.

> 3 dayThe product is awesome. It is a super lightweight SSD for my personal used. The cable is too short but other than that, everything is awesome so far.

Greater than one weekIts a 1 TB SSD. It looks like the picture in the listing. It was the correct color. It supports USB3. The only thing I dont know is how long it will be in service.
