As type 2 diabetic, I tend to have sores show up on me that simply persist and do not fully heal. I have a serious problem as well with ingrown toenails. Anyway, an ocean swimmer friend of mine (doctor) years ago recommended large doses of L-Lysine to treat skin wounds (up to 8000 or 10, 000 mg). I have been taking 3000mg a day for a steady and noticeable improvement to small skin sores and repair of larger persistent wounds. It wont stop my ingrown nails from their usual pain, but the granulations do ameliorate.

Use to get awful cold sores, I have been taking this for over 5 yrs and have not one cold sore! On my high stress weeks I take one or two additional which keeps every little tingle quiet!

Lysine works great for your skin complexion and for imperfections of the skin such as scars or new cuts etc...I take lysine daily 1000-2000mg and it makes my skin clearer and younger looking...I also do a lot of hands on work on my motorcycle and cars and I tend to scratch or cut my hands up and while taking lysine the cuts and scrapes seven the big ones seal up without scaring in less than a week like it never happened!

Really hoping this product helps me with my medical issue. Price was not to bad.

So far the value for this brand has been great. L-Lysine has a repeatable working affect at reducing the time (about half the time) for cells to heal. If I bit my lip or cheek and it developes a sore in my mouth, it is painful but Lysine cuts the healing time in half for me when taken in large doses every day until healed. I tend to take it everyday to help in recovery from workout and it seems to help, but my benchmark is actual cuts and skin healing. I am not sure if this brand is any better than others but it works, great pricing overall, good general coating to the typical large pills.

This is the only brand I can take that really works for me. I have really bad mouth ulcers. If I have one coming in it never gets bad goes away in about 2or3 days. I used to have them for 3 weeks before they were gone. They were very painful. I never hurt anymore. They are a little hard to swallow. But because they help I’ve learned to keep trying. They need to put a crease in them so I can cut them in half easy.

Tablets quite a few broken upon arrival

I had two out breaks of shingles 3 months apart. My docs said this is not supposed to happen so frequently.... I am on immunosuppressive therapy for autoimmune disease (Lupus). So I started taking this in late 2017 and have no more outbreaks, though I have also gotten the post-shingles vaccination. Nonetheless, Ill take the success of whichever is working as shingles is horrible, with all the pain and discomfort. The tablets are not so large and easy to swallow, but understand everyone has their own tolerance.

I take a lot of supplements and I have for years. I was a bit surprised when I started seeing consistently an undigested tablet in the toilet when using the toilet. This had not happened before. I do take digestive enzymes to help me digest the raw and cooked foods I eat and upon this discovery I came to realize it was this product. The tablets have a benign taste so I started crunching them before swallowing crushing it up a bit hoping this would help the digestion and absorption process, nope, I started passing the crushed pieces. Final analysis this product is very difficult to breakdown in the body. I will look for capsules with powered l-lysine and hope this will solve the problem. Maybe this is not true for everyone, just monitor and if it does happen just return within the window of times. I missed it.

Since I’ve been using lysine I’ve noticed that my nails are stronger . I never knew that lysine helps with protein assimilation . I began taking it after a relative died, and noticed that 2 months after I finished the bottle , that my nails were breaking . Now I’m back analysing and looking forward to not having my nails tear off and cause me pain.
