Love it large size makes for easy use

for anyone with large-ish hands this stick is AMAZING!!! also for just about anyone for whom the normal teensy fire starters are just to fricken hard to grip and whose paltry spark showers always disappoint at the wrong times...THIS ONE ROCKS THEM ALL!!! PRODIGOUS SPARK SHOWERS with the companion striker once I figured out it has a wrong way...

The video was grossly misleading. I scrape and scrape and am lucky to get one or two sparks.

Its a ferro rod. Other reviews make it out like its the breath of an angry dragon, but its just a ferro rod that performs exactly the same as ferro rods of the same diameter that cost 1/4th as much. So, yes the product works as intended, but it doesnt exceed expectations by any measure. The striker is the same cheap striker that can be purchased in quantities for about $1.50 each, and the rod would cost about $4-5 elsewhere.

I only buy these fire steels. They throw crazy sparks. Ive stopped fooling with cheaper firesteels.

I expected an impressive performance from the ferro rod. It performs better than I expected. The large diameter and longer length are easy to hold and use.
