Easy to use. Very lightweight. I bought one for my just in case bag!

I purchased the 8 model. Actually a great size, as I struggled with those smaller models. You get a great grip and a very long striking surface. This thing will throw sparks with the provided tool with ease, sorry to see others struggle with theirs. For me, I actually have to be careful as the sparks fly pretty far. I start fires with ease with this. This compliments my magnesium bar and both have a permanent spot in my pack.

This is a quality product that works great when used properly.

Arrived today and I immediately had to try it. Had some wood shavings laying around in the garage after a project. Took some of it outside and made a small pile. Even tough it’s a new rod it took only 3 strikes to get sparks and a little fire started. So simple and effective!

Only used twice, but really does a better job than other smaller rods I have. Throws big sparks, easy to use, great value.

Arrived in several pieces. Will update once replacement arrives. Really big though and I can definitely see how this might stand up to 20 or 30k uses! Added a picture, hand and marker are in there for scale to show just how large this thing is. Update: Return process was fast and they shipped a replacement out the following day! Great Amazon service. Had some time to play around with this, definitely want a smaller one thats more rugged. I feel like the first time I drop this itll shatter. After scraping off the outer coating, I was easily able to get some nice, long lasting sparks off of this rod.

This knife is AWESOME, super sharp right out of the box, the sheath is perfect. I can not recommend this knife more. BUY IT.

Over all the best one i have ever owned! The diameter and length is really amazing and definitely gives you a feeling of real security that youll have fire when you need fire. I have had it for about a week now and have used it already, and it showers sparks very well. I actually mounted it to my Leatherman Supertool 300 sheath and carry it everywhere i go. One of the best pieces of edc kit i have bought.

I will feel so much more confident having this with us on outdoor trips. 20,000 strikes will provide alot of warmth for this family.
