This is expensive. However, I would call it a great value. I went over an area rug, which I just vacuumed with our old stick vac. What an eye opener! I would never have guessed so much dust/fluff/sand was left in our rugs after using the old vacuum. Regarding the attachments, they are many and I dont even know what a few are for. The attachments do snap on positively and securely. This is a very high quality stick vac and is worth every penny.

In the case of my short little review here of the(my) Dyson v11-outsize{And also whomever actually shipped the package to me}, I will preface with: You get what you pay for. I couldnt be any happier with any part of the transaction or the v11-outsize itself and its accouterments. It arrived in a box that had shipping airpillows for stabilization and another box inside. That box was a protective sheath for the Dyson box. Inside the Dyson box there was another, at least, 20$ worth of cardboard to surround and protect every single individual attachment, both individual batteries, and the main unit. It took me 30 minutes of gleefully enjoying the entire unboxing experience to get everything out of the boxes. Not to mention there was a few more minutes of breaking unneeded cardboard down for recycling. Once I turned the unit on with the 20% charge that was pre installed on the batteries, I was 1000000% happy with my unit and I did a quick 2min vacuum of my apartment...which...I thought was already very clean..and I had a disgusting amount of very very very fine dust..nearly filling..yes...nearly filling..this extra large container. So...lets say that I am blown away (pardon the pun) by the actual performance of this little thing... And Im actually afraid of what a good 15min deep vacuum session is gonna yield in my apartment now. Because I had vacuumed with an old vacuum (that worked just fine mind you) not 3 days ago and Ive been gon for half that time. So... Let me end with. Im thrilled about everything. 1: My new toy was worth every penny simply because it sounds like a mini jet engine(very tolerable, even for a disabled vet with a very complicated head injury that has increased his sensitivity to sounds so much that his quiet cell phone alert makes him jump out of his skin) and I love just clicking it on for the spool up whistle. 2: the way the package was sent to me and the dyson packaging itself were marks of top quality. Like I said there was at least 20$ of cardboard there...I think it was closer to about 40-60$. 3: the unit can nearly almost pick up my combat boots with the suction power of this thing when I have it on turbo mode. 100/100 <3

Ok, I waited 7 months to write this review. I have owned Orecks, good on hard floors, not great on carpet, Kenmore cannisters, pretty good, but didnt like dragging around a cannister, I have owned 2 sharks, 1 gave me problems the other, pretty good, but corded. I have owned a Hoover lynx battery operated, its battery lasted only 10 minutes after awhile. I read everything about vacuums and it took me about 6 months to decide to buy the Dyson. Out of all the vacuums I have ever owned, this is the best, by far, and I mean by far. I show everyone this vacuum, I believe I have helped the company in sales! Why should you buy this Dyson? Its light, no cord, easy to clean filter, and easy to empty. I have never run out of battery power once, it has the best suction power out of all my other sweepers, hands down. But the reason I waited 7 months to write this review is because if it can pick up glitter off a hard wood floor, you have my attention. If you want to suck the glitter up even faster, use the boost button and that was the only time I used the boost button....after sucking up all my Christmas glitter effortlessly, I am convinced I have the best sweeper that money can buy. I have hard wood floors and super thick shag large area rugs, it sucks up everything. Best sweeper, no comparison. If you are still trying to decide, stop waiting.....get it.

I use an older Dyson upright and my wife uses a Bissell stick vacuum After one month: NO MORE CORDS! The V11 is light in weight but heavy on convenience and the suction is amazing. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I worried how she would be able to use the V11 with the works in the handle. She says it is as easy to use as the stick vac. It is very well balanced. The trigger switch has not been an issue for either of us. Maneuvering the vacuum head is dead easy and so much more convenient than the fixed heads of other vacuums. The vacuum head goes under cabinet overhangs and furniture, something the upright can’t do. The powered brush head does an excellent job on wood floors. Cleaning ceiling air and filter vents is so much more easy. I was skeptical how the V11 would handle the few short pile area rugs but it cleans them just fine. We have not run out of battery power cleaning our 2300 square foot house. The light weight, convenience and powered head means many small jobs go to the Dyson instead of the Dust Buster. Emptying is easy. My one concern is dust accumulation on the inside surfaces of the vacuum. I use an air compressor to blow out the dust accumulation in the innards of the Dyson upright and it is amazing how much there is. I’ve cleaned the V11 the same way and dust accumulation in it is also amazing. I can’t imagine not having an air compressor to clean these vacuums. The most important point I want to reiterate is that the convenience, light weight and maneuverability of the V11 means floors get vacuumed more often! What is the value of convenience, ease of use and good cleaning? Despite the initial cost, this vacuum can handle the jobs as well if not better than our other vacuums but with magnitudes more ease and convenience.

I am not a cleaning gadget person. Give me a rag and some Simple Green, a mop, a broom and a vacuum and thats pretty much it. I have purchased several vacuums I thought were good (always more money than I liked), but always came up short for cleaning. I finally bit the bullet and purchased this Dyson V11 Animal vacuum. I figured I would ultimately disappointed again, but for more money this time. I was wrong! I have been blown away by how much better this vacuum works than any I have had before. I love, LOVE not being tethered to the wall and dithering with a cord all the time. This vacuum has so much more power than my past corded vacuums, it is easy to handle, the head is low enough to go under my furniture, it is easy to empty and it doesnt give me a backache as my others have. The battery lasts long enough for me to do our 1850 sq foot house end to end. We have hardwood floors with scattered wool area rugs and having the vacuum adjust to each new surface without my help is pretty darned neat and IT WORKS. We live in the Rocky Mountains, so we have an additional season....the season of mud. We have two cats and two dogs that love the outdoors and come and and go freely through a pet door. So we have A LOT of dirt and A LOT of hair. I am not a happy house keeper. I want to do it once a week and be done with it. That leaves a few days of the week with some pretty dirty floors. Not anymore. This vacuum is so easy to use and so effective that I grab it often and keep the floors up. AND WOW does it pick stuff up and suck all the dirt out of my rugs. They are definitely brighter and I was surprised to be able to actually see a difference. I do not hesitate at all to recommend it.

I am so pleased with this vacuum. It handles well and is so easy to use. The battery lasts a long time as well. I have only once had to switch batteries during a cleaning. The light for the hardwoods is great. You really see so much more dust and pet hair. I have recommended it to friends.

It was time to replace our old Dyson cord vacuum. I think it was 17 years old. Since it had performed so well over the years, I immediately looked to Dyson again. I admit I was a bit skeptical that a smaller stick vacuum could do the job in an almost 2000 sq ft house. We are senior citizens who have an active lifestyle, live in the mountains off of dusty roads, have house cats and 2 Aussie dogs. Since we also have horses and acreage, we are busy and the cleaning sometimes takes a lower priority. I wanted something that was easy to use, quick, and not having to drag a cord around sounded really good! Hubby thought I was making a big mistake. But, after assembling it and using it today, he has changed his mind, and I really, really like this handy and powerful vacuum. Some of the features take a bit of getting used to, like taking the tube with the power head off to dump the bin. In fact, I was concerned about the small size of the bin, and how often I might need to dump it. But after using it to vacuum most of the house, Im no longer concerned. Im used to it now, and it takes just a moment. And...it did a great job, our area rugs look great, and it moves so easily to our hardwood floors. One really big plus for us is that it runs off battery charge. We live off the grid and generate our own electricity with solar and wind. On cloudy, windless days, I was basically forbidden to vacuum, unless I started a generator. But now, I can have a charge ready and get it done! Couldnt be happier. If, having using this for a time we find something to change our opinion, I will edit my review to reflect it. Can definitely recommend this product!

I have only had the vacuum a few days and I absolutely love it. It has strong suction and different ranges of suction so if I want a suction boost I can get it, but the regular suction is strong. I love that it gets around my chair legs because of its maneuverability. Amazing maneuverability. You can stand in one place and get around all the chair legs without having to move around to each side like you would with a regular vacuum cleaner. It gets under my kitchen cupboards where my old vacuum didnt fit. With my regular vacuum I had to stop and install a flexible hose and keep pulling the vacuum around to use the short hose that was attached which is awkward. I can go from carpet to floors and it automatically adjusts. The tools are fantastic! Any changing of tools is quick and easy, much easier and quicker than a regular vacuum and there are many more tools. I feel like I am getting all my vacuuming done faster from living room to kitchen to stairs and the special cleaning such as under the kitchen cupboards, under dining room chairs, tables, stairs, blinds, shelves, upholstered furniture, door tracks, around the dryer, etc. I would have skipped alot of that with my old vacuum because it was too time consuming and inconvenient. The handheld option makes alot of those jobs so much easier than trying to pull a vacuum around so you can use the flexible hose. There are many tools that come with the vacuum that are so useful. The vacuum is lightweight so it is great for stairs and much quieter than my old vacuum. I have never run out of power before I have finished vacuuming. It is hot here because it is summer and the motor puts off a light breeze and cools me off while I am vacuuming. I like the LCD screen which shows how much power I have used and how much I have left. It also lets you know how much power you have for the level of suction you choose. If you use the Power boost for all your vacuuming you would run out of power a little earlier than if you use the regular or eco suction but I have never had to. It charges within a few hours so it is always ready to use. I am so happy I made this purchase! It is a great vacuum. It is expensive. That is the only slight negative I can think of.

I am loving everything about the V11 except emptying the canister. To empty you must remove any attachments before emptying the debris. The battery life was excellent, I vacuumed most of my house, cleaned the couches and rugs without any issues on power or suction. I replaced my V8 with the V11 and overall am happy with the purchases, would have given it 5 stars but removing attachments to empty canister is a hassle.

Even though there are close to 5,000 reviews on this product and this will probably never get read, I feel compelled to write something because this has been a game-changer for me. Apparently, bending down and plugging in a vacuum was inhibiting to using my former vacuum. I did not know this until I got the Dyson. The Dyson is always charged up, and now I can just grab it and start to vacuum. No more stooping down and trying to pick up one hair off the bathroom floor (where, you know, theres never just one.) Instead, I just run in with this cordless vacuum cleaner. So convenient! Its also easier than my previous vacuum to switch out the attachments and seems just as powerful, even though it is much smaller. But its small size makes it a lot more nimble and easier to get in awkward and tiny spaces. So yes, it has a nice amount of pros. But if Im being honest, the best part about it is the no bending down to plug in a cord. I know this seems like such a minuscule benefit and of course, there are other vacuums that do this. But this one is powerful, unlike my other cordless vacs. Really, it does everything my giant full-size vacuum did but it does it better and because its so convenient, I use the vacuum more and have more positive connotations with this one. I dont know anyone who really likes to spend their money on boring vacuums and that kind of thing, but I see what all the hype is about. I am not a neat freak yet I use this all the time and my house feels so much cleaner. So happy I made this purchase!
