> 3 dayI use an older Dyson upright and my wife uses a Bissell stick vacuum After one month: NO MORE CORDS! The V11 is light in weight but heavy on convenience and the suction is amazing. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I worried how she would be able to use the V11 with the works in the handle. She says it is as easy to use as the stick vac. It is very well balanced. The trigger switch has not been an issue for either of us. Maneuvering the vacuum head is dead easy and so much more convenient than the fixed heads of other vacuums. The vacuum head goes under cabinet overhangs and furniture, something the upright can’t do. The powered brush head does an excellent job on wood floors. Cleaning ceiling air and filter vents is so much more easy. I was skeptical how the V11 would handle the few short pile area rugs but it cleans them just fine. We have not run out of battery power cleaning our 2300 square foot house. The light weight, convenience and powered head means many small jobs go to the Dyson instead of the Dust Buster. Emptying is easy. My one concern is dust accumulation on the inside surfaces of the vacuum. I use an air compressor to blow out the dust accumulation in the innards of the Dyson upright and it is amazing how much there is. I’ve cleaned the V11 the same way and dust accumulation in it is also amazing. I can’t imagine not having an air compressor to clean these vacuums. The most important point I want to reiterate is that the convenience, light weight and maneuverability of the V11 means floors get vacuumed more often! What is the value of convenience, ease of use and good cleaning? Despite the initial cost, this vacuum can handle the jobs as well if not better than our other vacuums but with magnitudes more ease and convenience.

> 3 dayIt’s great for my small apartment because I can just pick it up, vacuum, empty the full cartridge from vacuuming one room, and hang it back up. I am actually vacuuming as much as I should be where before I was not. I will say my hands do cramp if I use it too long. While it isn’t a lot of pressure to keep it on, it does take pressure. If holding your hand around a cup so you don’t drop it is difficult, this will be, too. However, I like that it turns off immediately if I need it to. So it’s fine. I also need to be mindful of what part of my hand is pushing the vacuum forward. I can get sore thumbs if I push where my thumb connects to my hand. If I push with my thumb pad, it’s all good. Changing the vacuum parts is a bit awkward and heavy. However, if you struggle with holding heavy objects while having to push buttons and pull at the same time, I suggest laying it on a table and that is much more doable. I can do it without the table, but why wouldn’t I when it’s there to help? XD I’ve had this vacuum for quite some time now (not a full year) and am very glad I purchased this. Hope this lasts me a long time!

> 3 daySo I should Premise that I only use this on the max setting , that is the highest of the 3 settings. So on the high setting I love it. It only lasts 15 minutes but my god will it suck so much dirt out of your carpet more first then you even new was there. ( it’s disgusting but awesome ) — it’s like the Kirby but with out 200 pounds and ten minutes of prep time. The problem is once you use the vacuum on the high setting you never wanna go back down because it doesn’t work nearly as well yes it will pick up all the dirt you can see but after picking up all the dirt can’t see you just simply can’t ever use the regular setting again maybe for someone with hardwood but I have carpet. One thing is after I first bought it I went on a cleaning spree and the next day my elbow hurt and it continued to hurt for almost a month I’m holding the vacuum above my head I think but it’s not the vacuum spot I’m out of shape so I’m not really holding that against it. But be warned I wouldn’t suggest anyone’s grandmother vacuum their blinds or tapestries with it for that reason. Also I definitely suggest purchasing the offbrand stand that goes with it because it just makes it so neat and easy for all of the attachments and riches place over on its stand which also keeps charging. I am however afraid to vacuum up anything nasty or sticky because of the cost of the vacuum and since the filter is reusable I don’t know I’m just worried I vacuumed up wet dog hair once with the Kirby planet has not horrible ever sense so that that kind of bothers me when you pay so much for something you’re hesitant to do certain things with it because you might break it which then overrides the purpose of getting it in the first place but I still like it

> 3 dayMy only disappointment is having to continue to hold down the on trigger. Everything else is perfect.

Greater than one weekFirst, the good — and it’s mostly good — for some reason, the pricing was down from what I’d expected. Still not cheap, but less than $500. I bought ‘The Animal” not ‘The Torque” drive. The only difference is the digital sophistication of the readout on the motor indicating battery life, etc. That option looked nice, but I figured I didn’t need it. The battery life is very good. The suction on this machine is in the WOW range ... but there is a downside to that. I’m thinking that the suction on the ECO setting is about the same as the V10’s suction on the AUTO setting, but I’m not sure. You can hear the change in power when you move the roller from hard floor to the carpet ... and that’s where the problem lies. I have new carpeting (one reason I upgraded to the V11 - I’m a Dyson cordless stick vac devotee and have had one for years). The V11 will NOT move across the new carpet in AUTO mode. I admit that I find this a bit distressing as I can’t take advantage of the additional power of the machine. The carpet is Mohawk Smartstrand Silk, and very soft and thick. Fortunately if set on ECO, the vacuum operates across the carpet pretty much like the old one did on the AUTO setting.... so, in the end, I suspect that I’m getting about the same suction power as with the older vacuum on AUTO. The V11 is also noticeably heavier, but I can handle it and it doesn’t bother me too much. Still, I struggle with the idea that there is a setting that I can’t use... and one hates to have a top of the line machine that has a problem of this nature. ... and YES, I have the air gates wide open.

> 3 dayI’m 77, so I’ve had a lot of vacuums in my life. This is far and above the best. No cord to lift over. Suction is awesome for all the pet hair. Battery life is great. Dyson has thought this one out in detail.

> 3 dayNOTE: Update below... Just got the new V11 from Amazon. Shipping and packaging was excellent. Now onto the actual Dyson, the VAC itself is amazing!!! However, the Torque Motorhead was a big disappointment on my hardwood floors. The $100 Dirt Devil I have does a better job, but it’s corded, which is why I went for the Dyson. I heard so many positive things about the V11 that I assumed I was just using it incorrectly. Turns out I wasn’t and that the head it comes with isn’t great when using it on bare floors. I contacted Dyson and they said I have to spend another $150 for a bare floor head from the V10 model. Just a heads up for those with mostly hardwoods, look into a V10 package that comes with both heads as it’s a better deal. It comes with both heads and since the V10 is the last model, it’s much cheaper to boot! That being said, the suction seems good on this thing. With the front vent on the included head “closed”, this thing sucks itself to the floor!! Battery life on turbo mode is about 5 or 6 minutes which is enough to super clean a small or medium sized room. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) On regular mode I can do most of my house, which is amazing. It’s also pretty quiet. I don’t like loud noises so I wear noise canceling headphones and listen to music when doing things like mowing and vacuuming. I didn’t need them at all with the Dyson. Overall pretty impressive, just that initial shock of seeing debris left behind on the hardwoods makes me want to give only three stars. I’m hoping the new bare floor head helps. UPDATE: Ive been using the Bare Floor Tool for a few months now and it is 100 times better than the Torque Motorhead on bare floors. It picks up way more stuff and the battery life is more than doubled!! It can also roll over things (like Cheerios) where the Torque Motorhead will just push them around. Also Ive noticed that my bin is fuller when using the Bare Floor Tool, as if the Torque Motorhead was somehow leaving find dust and dirt behind. IF you have all bare floors, try to find a Dyson kit that has the vac and the Bare Floor Tool. The Torque Motorhead will be useless to you. Mine lives in the back of the closet now.

> 3 dayI am a Dyson Animal loyalist. This is my first cordless Dyson, and Ive had it for about two months now. I use it multiple times a day (I have a Siberian Husky...nuff said) and I maintain the vacuum exactly as directed. Its awesome, and yet there are some major issues with it. I have to give it four stars, but honestly, my other Dyson was much better. Heres my list of pros and cons: 1. Its a Dyson Animal! Dyson Animals are essential to pet owners. The amount of hair this thing picks up from my hardwood floors and carpet is amazing. No other vacuum even comes close. 2. Its very easy to empty the canister and to clean/maintain this vacuum and the filter. 3. It holds a charge for a really long time, considering that its a cordless vacuum. 4. It doesnt come with a ton of attachments, but the ones it does come with are practical and I use them frequently. You can also order additional attachments if you need them. CONS 1. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is absolutely RIDICULOUS that there is no on/off button. The vacuum is on for only as long as you press your finger against the on switch. Dyson claims this helps conserve battery life. I say, that is total BS. My finger gets pretty sore after Ive been vacuuming for 15+ minutes and pressing the stupid button down for the whole time. I paid nearly $600 for this machine and should get a freaking on/off button, for gods sake. 2. While the vacuum is easy to empty, I wish it held just a tad more stuff in the canister. Also, I always accidentally press and hold the on/off switch when trying to empty the vacuum canister, which is super annoying. 3. Theres no headlight on this vacuum. Again, a pretty basic feature that one would expect when spending close to $600. Thats pretty much it. I still am glad I bought this, as I cannot imagine my dog hair-infested life without it, but seriously, for this price, I expected a bit more. Dyson, you could do so much better.

> 3 dayThe vacuum part it self works fine but Im disappointed at the attachments this one I literally just used it one and the part that helps it glid started peeling off
