> 3 dayI purchased this vacuum in January 2020 for $467. It does a great job on removing pet fur from carpet. The attachment for furniture also works well. It does not do a great job on hardwood, laminate, or tile. Unless you vacuum slowly, debris is scattered by the roller brush. It would work better if this feature could be turned off for hard flooring. I’ve had this vacuum for just over 3 years. After about a year of use, a plastic part near the brush head broke off. See photo. Not a big deal. After about 2 years a portion of the housing near the trigger broke off. This left a sharp edge and exposed part of the trigger normally covered. See photo. A few months ago, the battery started to lose charge. What I used to vacuum on a single charge now requires a recharge. Today, the trigger failed. Turns out this is a common problem. This appears to be a planned design failure. The part is thin plastic. You can buy a replacement trigger for about $20 that is more robust. This is a known defect that Dyson won’t fix. Since the housing on my vacuum is already broken, the trigger is loose so this option may not be my best solution. I decided to spend $152 to replace the entire main body and motor. I may buy a compatible replacement battery. They are about half the cost of a Dyson battery. You would think Dyson would have a exchange program for batteries… Overall, this vacuum works. Just don’t expect it to last more than 3 years.

Greater than one weekWe bought this vacuum three years ago and we enjoyed the convenience factor. It’s light weight. No cords. We found ourselves vacuuming more frequently simply because it was so much easier. That was the entire point of buying it. Stairs were a dream. But like so many others have pointed out, the trigger mechanism eventually broke. And the design appears to almost intentionally make it incredibly difficult to replace such a simple mechanism. The average person absolutely will not own the tools required to completely disassemble the motor, the vortex mechanism, and the trigger assembly. Every time you think you might be getting close, yet another set of screws, some requiring a t8 screwdriver and one requiring a nonstandard 6 inch long extension awaits. For such a great vacuum, I expect longer than 3 years use before encountering such a pain of a fix… in over 30 years of vacuums, I’ve never encountered such a basic failure so early in a vacuum’s life. So, it’s great while it lasts but you may not have a particularly long relationship with it before the pain begins.

> 3 dayMy partner and I love this vacuum. All of the attachments make it very versatile for use around the house. It does especially a great job on hard floors. I love that it can easily turn into a handheld vacuum which is great for use on stairs and dusting applications. It is not my first choice for thick carpet though as the power doesnt adapt very well so it kind of grabs onto the carpet and becomes difficult to move. My only other complaint is that it is a little bit on the heavy side.

> 3 daySo far, I love this vacuum. I have a Husky/German Shepherd mix and a tabby cat. We have hair everywhere, all of the time. Even right after I sweep, mop the floors, and vacuum. Last year I purchased a handheld Shark that is a good product, but it hasn’t been as powerful as this Dyson when you’re using it in handheld mode or on the hardwood floors in my home. I got the V11 Torque, and it’s outperforming my old, corded Animal DC 17. I felt like I didn’t really need a new vacuum, but this baby is pulling out a ton of pet hair and dust from my 22 month old home’s carpets. We have about 2100 square feet of carpets and 500 sq feet of hardwood and 200 sq foot of tile, and it’s been very versatile on all of our floor types. I used my DC17 on the hardwood, but I never truly captured the dust and animal hair, and I’m terrible at sweeping, but this has been a game changer. Vacuuming under furniture, around chair legs, carpeted stairs, and my husband’s extremely messy man cave was easy too, because the head of this vacuum is much lower profile than my old Dyson’s head. The transitions from our hard floors to our carpet always looked rough, but after using this vacuum in both today, I’m so happy. I can’t see any remaining doggy hair. The stairs and our couches are so much easier vacuumed than lugging around our old, heavy corded Dyson, so I suspect my home will be cleaner, since it’s much easier to use. I do wish the stamina of the battery were better, but I am able to lean an entire 2715 square foot home on one charge. I’m hoping with TLC, the battery will hold up for years.

> 3 dayI use this product 6/7 days a week (yes I do) and I can tell you its really made my life easier during the last couple of years (and counting). Its a breeze to pickup dirt and debris from the floor and Im able to clean the entire house with battery to spare (~30% left once done). I can even use it to clean sofa and chairs in addition to cleaning the floor. As of this writing, this product is 42% cheaper compared to when I bought it (sigh). However, if I divide the purchase cost by the number of days Ive been using it non-stop, its been a very smart investment (less than what you spend on your coffee, lets put it that way). Now the downside - customer support is pretty much useless. Theres a known issue with the trigger that requires you to replace it after some time . Mine failed 1-week after my 2 year warranty expired. Support insisted this was either a battery issue or that the entire motor needed replacement (nonsense). I did a google search and found about the broken trigger issue and bought a replacement in Amazon. Dyson support wasnt even able to offer me a replacement trigger and only offered to notify me if it ever was available. I disassembled the machine on my own and replaced the trigger (thank you youtube). Its back in business :) In summary, this is a very smart investment and no regrets with this purchase. However, per my experience, be aware of the trigger issue and the fact that Dyson Support is pretty much useless (a shame considering the quality and functionality of this product).

> 3 dayPROS: - The suction is as good as our kirby and Oreck 1300. It beats both when you add in its maneuverability. Really impressed. - I thought holding in the switch would be an issue but it isnt at all. Its very light. In fact, its hard to even pick it up without turning it on. - Battery life is amazing. Ive never run it down, even when I did all the hardwood and tile on boost mode. - LOVE Auto mode. Genius. CONS: - I found small particles like litter get spun out from the torque head on tile. So I purchased the V10 soft roller head for hardwood and tile (Note that Auto mode doesnt work with it). - The weight gets to me if I do all the hardwood and tile floors at once, and our house is small (1500sqft w/~60% tile or hardwood). Part of it might be the wheels on the V10 soft roller head move *so* easy I think I expend more energy just keeping it where I want it. Maybe thats why they got rid of it on the V11. I dont have an issue with the weight when using the torque head on carpet. - I dont like the brush attachments on the dyson. The bristles are just one row and have large gaps which lets a lot of air escape, significantly reducing the suction. I was surprised at this. I looked for aftermarket brushes but they just copy the dyson design. Luckily one of my old brush heads fit. - This is so convenient I find that I vacuum more often A tip I found for rugs - put it in Eco mode and open the vent in the torque head (red switch). Then it doesnt pull the rug up into the torque head. That works just as well as the soft roller.

> 3 dayI have been wanting a Cordless Dyson for a long time and i am not disappointed! The battery lasts very good except on Boost mode but that seems self explanatory because it’s going to full power to get deep into your carpet. You get about 14 min at full charge in this mode.

> 3 dayAmazing suction. Used another vacuum (let’s call it Electrolux with a beater head attachment) first. Then used the Dyson. The amount of dog hair left behind Filled the canister. No hair stuck on the power head. Other machines I have had, you would need to clean the brush frequently using scissors. Not this machine! Highly recommend for people with Siberian Husky’s !! Soo worth the $$.

Greater than one weekI dont write reviews very often but felt I needed to based on negative reviews I read. I was hesitant to drop $600 on a vacuum because of the reviews, but most of the negative reviews have no merit, IMO. First of all, the vacuum is not that heavy...at 6.5lbs, its two pounds lighter than a gallon of milk. If you cant carry a gallon of milk around then youre in pretty terrible shape. Not only that, but when youre actually vacuuming, some of the weight is alleviated by letting gravity do its work. Second, having to hold the trigger down is not bad at all. You dont have to squeeze the d*mn thing as hard as you can to get it to run. You barely have to touch it to trigger the vacuums power. You can have a very relaxed hand while using this vacuum and not run into any issues. The different modes seem to work fine. Its pretty incredible how much stuff it picks up when its on turbo mode. Its true the battery doesnt last long when using it, but it has pretty good suction on auto so you really shouldnt need to use turbo too often unless you want to do a deep cleaning. I cant comment on the issue of the vacuum not working after a couple of months. Weve had it for two months and it still works, so only time will tell if that issue comes up.
