Grate product. Was not a perfect fit due to the fact not all wood is cut to spec . Was able to easily get it on with a rubber mallet.

My Background: I have built 10 or so decks with covers, have done numerous remodels for family and friends, and have tons of tools. I am a senior estimator for the market for lumber take-off for a lumber company. So I hope this gives you an idea of what I know and what I can get. We also have 3 girls 4yo to 3 mo. So I had a lot of back and forth if I should layout $$ for brackets when I can build it myself but for piece of mind I went with brackets.*my wifes idea for time savings* So I take the hardware ove to the site and put the 4x4s in and did not have a problem at all!! I get one a-frame stood up in about 20 mins since I have my 4 yo putting all the washer on the legs while counting and putting them in her Lowes Build and Grow apron! That was the easy part! We get the 4x6 in to the bracket after shaving the corners down. So now my wife and I are trying to get the 4X6 on the other end and it was not fitting. I take a tape to the beam and it is 3-5/8 and I do the same to the bracket, but the to the outside 3-5/8 as well!! So we can not take the beam out of the other end since we beat the crap out of it to get it in. So I spent the next 30 mins, 3 batteries 5an batteries notching the 4x6 to get it to fit. I ended up taking a 1/4 off of the 5-1/4 sidefor good measure. It worked like a charm!! I just had to use a 7-1/4 circle saw to get half the cut then finish off with sawzall. What cracks me up and why I gave it a lower review is the 4x4s were just as WET as the 4x6s but they had a lot more wiggle room when sliding them in and when I lagged them, the bracket compressed in. I almost should have used some synthetic shims to keep this from happening. I did not take a measurement of that opening but the 4x4s came out to be 3-5/8 as well. So make sure your wood is super dry and be prepared shave or notch your beam. Also one of the legs sheared during install. Im going to be picking up some Simpson SDWS or TimberLoks from work.

EASTERN JUNGLE GYM EASY 1-2-3 SWING SET A-FRAME BRACKETS These sturdy and heavy-duty brackets are the only way to build a home swing set that will be extremely sturdy. The brackets, while costly, are made of heavy gauge steel, 100% welded joints, and painted nicely to stay rust free for a good looking swing set for years to come. The lag screws and washers are not included. You can purchase the bolt kit extra or go to a home center just as easily. The brackets eliminate any cutting -- you simply buy the wood -- I purchased a ten foot 4x6 beam and ten foot 4x4 posts. Using ten foot 4x4 post in the brackets makes the swing set nine feet high. I then put each leg in the ground 12 deep with concrete. The end result is an eight foot high swing set that isnt going anywhere! I installed two swings to give the kids plenty of room to have fun and swing to their hearts content. In the future when the kids have outgrown this, we will hang a porch swing. Some sanding with a belt sander was required to slide the wood into the brackets. Pressure treated lumber tends to swell and would probably fit better if it sat in the sun for several days to dry out. Each bracket requires 14 lag screws and washers to fasten the wood. This is easy once you drill pilot holes. I used an impact driver to drive the screws and that worked very well, quickly, and was easy. I also purchased 3/8x6 eye bolts to hang the swings. I suggest you get some friends to help stand the swing set up once you have it together. Overall this swing set is built like a rock and it doesnt budge one inch when the kiddies are swinging. Its much sturdier than a home center type you would purchase. Our grand babies LOVE it!!! You will find cheaper brackets out there but you wont end up with the quality such as these. I did everything top shelf on this project and these brackets definitely fall into that category. My total project cost was about $325.00 but this swing set is like one you would find on a playground and is built to last.

My hubby and I designed and built our own swing set using your brackets and hardware. It was super easy and its so sturdy. We are the envy of the neighborhood thanks to your product. My hubby designed the canopy from PVC pipes, flag pole hardware and a 12x12 canopy with 90% spf from home depot for about $150. The swings and swingset were made with yellowwood. I made the pads and pillows and covered them in waterproof material (fabric.com). The large waterproof camping pad is sold here on Amazon 24x72x3 for about $100. I think we ended up spending around $500-600 total including lights also from Amazon.

***UPDATE*** I have changed my review from the 3 stars to 4 stars after receiving the replacement. I was able to get another good one out of the new box and after measuring one of the new ones, it was also smaller than the 3.625 they claim it to be. That being said putting the swing together was super easy and it looks great. I would highly recommend that you have a power drill though to run all of those lag bolts in because there are a lot of them! My DeWalt was nice and warm after putting it all together! We went with a 12 beam on the top and 8 legs but we are thinking of changing the legs over to 10 just to give us more room for the swing arc, assuming we dont get a letter from the HOA...so we might just hold on to the 8 as well! The thing is super sturdy but does need anchored to the ground if you are going to get crazy on it! ------------------------------------------------ I figured I would write this caution and I will for sure update this after I receive the replacement. But as you can see in this photo, the piece is not made correctly and is only 3.25 wide at the bottom and 3.625 at the top which is the measurement that they claim on their website. Since the final cut of a 4x6 is 3.5 x 5.5 if it was made correctly it would slide right on. And the second piece in this kit did just that....it slid right on without any issues at all. I have seen a lot of people saying they needed to soap up the board or push it on with a hammer, etc but being 1/4 under size is obviously a problem with the manufacturing of this piece. Amazon of course is making it right and sending me another one out and I sure hope at least one of the pieces is the correct size because we have some kids that were excited to have a swing set up and now they are learning some patience!

Good system. I’ve seen some reviews of complaints of beams not fitting in the brackets, taking them to the lumber yard and trying to fit 4X6 beams on a lumber rack-not realistic. I used a sheetrock knife to take down all four corners and then a 5 in orbital sander with 80 grit and sanded all sides down—make sure to radius the corners like in picture(bottom side is not complete so you could see the difference between the two). You will still need a rubber mallet but will slide on easily. Hope this helps some aggravation for people.

These framing brackets made building our grandchild a sturdy swingset amazingly easy. They are heavy, strong, and easy to fit (after a little adjustment with a hammer and board scrap to flatten a couple of shallow dents, Quality Control might want to pay more attention to that). We used one 4x6x12 and 4 4x4x10s for a nice wide, and tall framework. That height is perfect for the double saddle swing height, and an adult height sling swing. We added extra chain to lower one of the sling swings, and the platform swing to small person height. It is popular! And strong enough for an adult or two to enjoy some playground memories. Suggestions: - Be sure to leave *at least* 12 between swings. - Install all of your swing anchors *before* you assemble the frame. - Make sure at least one end of each of your timbers will fit cleanly and snugly into the brackets, and mark it so you dont have to guess before assembling. (We used a flapwheel sanding disk on the angle grinder to adjust the ends of the top span, and one leg.) - We also used the angle grinder with sanding disk to rounding the corners a bit, all down the length of all four legs. (safer if a child happens to run into it) - Do make sure that you only drill your pilot holes half the depth of the lag screws, so they will tighten down well. - Have at least a couple of strong adult friends help to stand it up. - After erecting, move the bottom of each of the legs out to its far corner till it stops (there will be a little play, and you want to minimize that). - Check that there is no movement, by leaning/pushing on the legs in all directions. - Hang those swings, and call in the kids! (you may want to take a turn on it first, after all, you earned it).
