Good system. I’ve seen some reviews of complaints of beams not fitting in the brackets, taking them to the lumber yard and trying to fit 4X6 beams on a lumber rack-not realistic. I used a sheetrock knife to take down all four corners and then a 5 in orbital sander with 80 grit and sanded all sides down—make sure to radius the corners like in picture(bottom side is not complete so you could see the difference between the two). You will still need a rubber mallet but will slide on easily. Hope this helps some aggravation for people.

    Greater than one week

Assembled we had 500 lbs on top of it and it didn’t so much as creak, pre drill your holes because they are a pain to back out when the head snaps. The only downside is the openings are true so a homedepot 4x4 is going to be loose, expect to make a trip to a real lumber yard.

I built a swing for my wife out of an old swing we found on a neighbors curb. Four 4x4’s and a 4x6 fit well into the brackets. I am planning to use the same from for a swing for our kids one day. I like how you can customize whatever you want to build.

Used these in combination with a middle bracket to make a 16 A-frame swingset. Pros: + Durable paint and steel, holding up perfectly after a few months in the elements + Included GALVANIZED hardware - important! + Snug fit - I see a lot of people complain about it being a tight fit for a standard big box 4x6. I see that as a good thing because I know its not going anywhere. About 15 minutes with a hammer and chisel and youll be good to go, but Id also recommend letting your pressure treated wood dry out for a week or two beforehand to make it easier. Cons: - As others have said, regular 4x4s fit a little loose in the leg holes. I didnt use shims or anything, but I wish they fit a bit more snug. - Lack of documentation: A little time with an angle finder and some experimenting and I found that a 15 degree bevel and 15 degree miter will get your legs to sit more or less flat on grass. It would have been helpful if the angles for the legs were provided by the vendor. All in all Im happy with the brackets; for less than the price of a premade swingset we got to build our own custom one.

This is a sturdy bracket for a swing set or porch swing. However, pressure treated wood will require fitting. I purchased my lumber, 4x6 beam and 4x4 posts from Lowes, so nothing non-standard. I went with pressure treated since the swing will be out in the weather. The beam and post ends required some significant work with a belt sander and coarse grit belts to fit into the brackets. Once the fitting is done and the brackets are installed they look good and will definitely get the job done, but be prepared to put some sweat into the job!

First two went on easy! Measured all wood and brackets everything lined up to what we needed. Got end and middle bracket on and four legs. We then continued they headed for the next half and she would not go in the bracket for nothing. We did have to trim the end down to get it in but before hand we had to get the outside bracket on first. Easy way was to get bracket started then stand up the pole and lift and drop. Gods hammer “gravity” worked best to get the end one on. Standing it up well that’s a whole bother problem. Myself 40 year old Dad and two daughters 9 and 11 trying to raise a 20foot long header with 12 foot legs on it was a chore for all of us. Tractor helped for the lifting with straps but we had to stack 4 big concrete blocks at each foot so the had something to press against to be able to lift. Once she was up she looked great! Kids then got overly excited! Had to buy 30” more chain for each chain length because it was built too tall for our swings we ordered. 12’ legs means add 30” to each chain to make them low enough to sit on. ~ThreeGirlsandDad~

These brackets make it very easy to build a very sturdy swing set frame. Having just put one together I can share a little advice. Ive read that people had to sand down the ends of the wood to fit them into the sleeves. I had one 4x4 that was damp and swollen and wouldnt fit in. I was thinking that I could use a hair dryer to accelerate the drying process. That wasnt true but the hair dryer did provide the solution. Heat up the metal sleeve for ten minutes (until its hot to the touch), it expands, and problem solved. Assembly order matters. The 4x6 top beam is brutally heavy. Start by attaching the brackets to it. You can then slide the 4x4 legs into the brackets with the beam lying on the ground (top down). If you have a lot of strong help then you can just do all four legs and flip it over. If not so much help, then you want to do two legs and then flip it over with the beam acting as one of three legs. Grab a ladder and prop the legless end of the beam onto the ladder. Then work the two remaining legs into the bracket. Im probably going to do a 2x4 cross piece on the legs for added stability. You can sister together 2x6s and 2x4s to make the beam and legs but given that they are the sole support for the structure that seems ill advised. Get the 4s and just end it. Less work too. Size matters as well (sorry). I went with a 10 top beam. The brackets eat up 1 on each side. So you have 8 for swings. That is plenty of room for 3 swings and 4 might even work. The brackets can probably handle a 12 top beam but good luck with assembly (see above). I went with 9+ for the legs. A higher beam means a longer swing distance and more fun. Make sure to get swings with longer chains (mine are 66). Im going to put some Thompsons Water Seal on the wood after it dries out a bit. Give it a more finished look. My daughter is going to want some structure to go along with the swings, so there is no rest for the weary, but at least this will distract her for a while. Maybe shell forget entirely.

Used a sledge hammer and a block of wood to drive the brackets on to the 4 x 6 top piece but Id rather a snug fit. 4 x 4 legs slid in easily. I did add a 2 x 6 brace between the legs for a true A frame. Using pressure treated wood be ready for a heavy lift to get it upright and moved in to place. Im very happy with the quality and the end result. The only thing is where Amazon advertises that this is from a small business brand. Support small. When I got the box it says Made in China. Must be a small China business.

Brackets were just what we needed to finally hang a handmade porch swing. The brackets are heavy duty and the 4x4’s fit easily. The 4x6 piece was a little more involved. Had to shave the ends a bit but probably was due to a lot of moisture from the treatment process. All turned out great.

This product works decent enough, however you may want to put in some additional support that I showed in the picture. After two years, the entire swingset moves away more than I feel comfortable with; so you can go by the hardware store and pick up some steel conduit piping, Cut into 2 foot lengths, hammer each end flat and drill a hole. Then mount them as a hypotenuse to the corners and it will stiffen up the entire swingset and make it way more safe
