PLEASE don’t use this for hermit crabs! It will solidify in there shells when it’s wet. Trapping them inside. I recommend play sand and coconut fibers mixed together 5:1

I have had a lot of trouble finding a decent and appealing Hermit Crab Substrate. Living in a Manhattan apartment, I didnt really want to mix and deal with Eco Earth and then combine it all with sand. So, this substrate is for those who are maybe a little lazy :) or have limited means to set up and deal with tanks. It came clean and very natural looking, and my crabs LOVED it. They immediately started burrowing and have been out more and when digging, it packs well and has a great consistency. The salt, probiotics and coconut fiber also help with humidity retention, waste breakdown and facilitate a healthy environment for my hermit crabs. Definitely consider getting this if you want a prepackaged, excellent substrate for your crabs- all you need to do is add enough water after emptying out substrate into tank to bring it to sandcastle consistency, so it packs well and your crabs can burrow without having their tunnels collapse.

I add the hermit beach all natural sand with other sand. Great!

It was exactly as it was listed in the posting. I was very happy with the bags of sand when they were delivered. No spillage or leaks.

Great product, wish there were bigger sizes. Have ordered these several times. My crabs love it and I like how moist the sand keeps the inside of the cage. We usually mix a pack of these with mulch and it makes a good combo inside the cage.
