The bag was definitely big enough to fill 1.5 tanks. But the sand was wet. This made a mess and was sticking to the crabs. But otherwise great quality and value.

Good sand, I know nothing about hermits and I was gifted this crab. So it’s a learning process.

My crabbies seemed to love this sand. It comes moist and seems close to actual beach sand.

Super easy to clean. Once I put my crabs down in this substrate it was an instant difference. They started moving right away and exploring. They seem to really like it. Bonus it smells fresh instead of like moist old wood or moldy moss like the one the pet store had suggested. 5 stars from me and my hermit crabs.

I’ve heard that they like digging but my 2 never have. They seem a lot more active & happier. Will definitely buy again in a couple months. Sorry pics aren’t great but notice the tunnel my smallest made, it’s enormous!

I could have just bought sand, because thats all this was.

At first I thought it was good but it killed my hermit crab!! It’s leg got caught in one of the stringy chunks in it and it couldn’t move. He didn’t move much anyway so I didn’t think much of it until I picked it up and it was dead!!

This stuff WILL kill your hermit crabs. Do not buy it...... do some research before putting ANYTHING new with your crabs. Just like you should with any pet!
