GE Lighting CYNC Indoor Smart Plug, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Smart Outlet Socket, Works with Alexa and Google Home, Voice Control Outlet

I love using these. You will have to download the CYNC app from GE to get everything set up, but once your account is set up through the GE CYNC app, Set up is a breeze! Then you just link through google! I chose these GE ones because theyre American made and easier to use than some of the other suspicious apps other smart plugs will make you download. My appliances are GE so I just stuck with what I loved. I wish they were a little smaller but I never see them because theyre behind furniture. Great purchase, would recommend to anyone!

These work okay. Sometimes they go offline. They seemed fine with initial set up but then when I rearranged them for a different room and different purpose, I started having connectivity and set up issues.

I bought a 4-pack of smart plugs after reading they could be used to power down your Modem/Router rid yourself of unplugging the power cord. Well, those particular smart plugs use wi-fi so you can pretty much guess what happened when I tried to turn it back on... NOTHING! Theres no wi-fi available to turn the smart plug back on! So as I wrestled with whether I should return or keep the other plugs, I learned about the GE CYNC which uses both wi-fi AND bluetooth technology. Setup was so simple I thought I must have missed something. I plugged in the routers power cord and cycled it off then back on without a hitch, thanks to bluetooth. The router took its usual 3 to 5 minutes to re-establish itself and the connections to my many peripherals and devices.

This is one of the only 5g smart plugs I could find, and I am pleased to say that it works! It sometimes has some trouble with Alexa, but 90% of the time it works great. Even if it is having problems with Alexa, it always works through the app.

Doesn’t have schedule or dusk to dawn as was implied in the description. This was my purpose for purchasing. Alexa is a miss 70% of the time, so that’s no help either. Perhaps add that as an update in the app.

Cool little gadget! I could figure out why my C by GE lights were not working. I bought this and now they work! It has a built In home hub, so you don’t have to buy a separate one! Plus I can turn off my living room lights with a touch of a button or by telling Alexa!

I have two of these smart plugs and a smart switch The app is incredibly difficult to use and therefore the smart plugs and smart switch are difficult to set up. furthermore these smart devices spontaneously drop their connection to my local network requiring me to laboriously set them up again. After hours of frustration, I reinstalled mechanical timers.

So far these are great plugs! The app seems to be updated pretty regularly and the Alexa integration has been seamless so far. I find that there is a lot of possibility for customization if you take the time to learn how the app works. I have a few Cync plugs, sensors, and bulbs mixed into my smart home setup and the most tech maintenance I’ve ever had to do is a power cycle when my internet was spotty.

Syncing to Alexa isn’t continuous and it took awhile to get the Cync app to work

Super easy to install. Download the GE Cync app and it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3. Great for when it gets dark early during the winter months so you don’t have to come home to a dark house. Previously bought a cheaper version while I was on the checkout line at TJ Maxx and it was a waste of $5. The device constantly would disconnect so I’d have to unplug it for a few minutes. The GE Cync does not have that problem, thankfully.
