GE Lighting CYNC Indoor Smart Plug, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Smart Outlet Socket, Works with Alexa and Google Home, Voice Control Outlet

Reading so many review on here. Some are so long and love complaining about everything. I bought this one because it really is rated at 1800 wats, 15 amps unlike some lieing other brands. Bought another that would not set up because my phone was on my 5ghz wifi. This one set up very easy even though my phone was using the 5ghz. This device does use 2.4ghz so the range is pretty good from the wireless router. The app sucks but works with no ads. I am using it to remotely turn on a TV stand heater through a circuit breaker power strip. Since the app is very hard to use I lowered the rating.

I used the GE CYNC Indoor Smart Plug for about two months now. The installment and app connection process were easy, and after that I have not cared about plugging in and out. I am using it for my radiator, which is scheduled for the night 11pm-6am. Loves how it turns on and off by itself, so that I dont have to care about it.

I am pleased with these plugs, I have been using them for over a year now along with the Cync lightbulbs. Every now and again I experience some issues when asking my digital assistant to turn it on and it doesn’t recognize the plug but I am able to override it using the app. It’s better than having the old fashioned clapper. Get some! You won’t be disappointed.

Once set up, the plug works very well. However, it is a bit glitchy to install on Google Home. Unlike whats advertised, you are wise to first install it on the GE Cync app, then port it over to Google Home. Installing directly from Google Home results in glitches AND error messages. Worth it overall once its up and running and I plan to buy many more!

These are great, easy to setup, and most of all it supports 5G! Highly recommend.

App is easy enough to use or it can be turned on/off by google alexa whatever. Its desynced a few times and needed to be fully reset before resuming use though which was really annoying when it was tucked behind my christmas tree. Otherwise its nice that its not ticking away all day like an oldschool light timer

Works great with outdoor Christmas tree. I can work it from my phone. Convenient on cold nights.

I bought a 4-pack of smart plugs after reading they could be used to power down your Modem/Router rid yourself of unplugging the power cord. Well, those particular smart plugs use wi-fi so you can pretty much guess what happened when I tried to turn it back on... NOTHING! Theres no wi-fi available to turn the smart plug back on! So as I wrestled with whether I should return or keep the other plugs, I learned about the GE CYNC which uses both wi-fi AND bluetooth technology. Setup was so simple I thought I must have missed something. I plugged in the routers power cord and cycled it off then back on without a hitch, thanks to bluetooth. The router took its usual 3 to 5 minutes to re-establish itself and the connections to my many peripherals and devices.

Unfortunately I have run out of patience. I had a Cync hub, the app says i can now only use light bulbs and light switches. I was having a lot of trouble keeping the hub connected to the WiFi. Which is why I wanted the no-hub plug. But now I cant use the plug and the hub at the same time!?!?! So, i uninstalled the hub. Now I go to set up my plug. App says to be within 40ft. Thats okay Im within 15 ft. App failed to connect to WiFi. Move within 8ft App connects to WiFi Plug turns off during Adding to your home App fails to add plug to home App tells me to factory reset plug and try again I tried 4 times. It never ever connected. I missed my return window So i decided to try it again Same issue. Contacted support. Get message saying they will reach out to me. No one ever reached out to me. Found chat help within the app. Get message saying someone will reach out to me. Now I have no hub for cync light bulbs because it wont reconnect And no plugs cause the plugs wont connect. This is the most garbage product I have ever failed to use. I shouldve known better, but hey at least it was worth the try, right.... No, no it wasnt.
