This stuff is great! It fixes the color in even the most difficult colors so you can pair with fabric with red and navy blue. No bleed at all.

Sets the dye in fabrics just like it claims.

If you are a quilter or work with batik fabrics, an initial washing with Retayne is a must. Colors will not bleed once the fabric has been treated with this stuff.

People are still giving the recipe of using white vinegar and salt to set dyes but with all of our new soy based dyes dont trust any thing but Retayne to set my fine batik fabrics

Used after making quilts to hold colors so they do not bleed. So far it works well. Have used it on 6 quilts, and none of them have had any bleeding problems, even though many of them had very bright colors with white trim. Will never make a quilt without using this to set the colors.

Take the time to use this on your brightly colored fabrics before sewing with them. The colors stay bright and do not run when they are washed later. It only takes one ruined quilt to make this point.
