G&K Craft GNKRET-16 Ind. Retayne 16oz, 16 oz

I ran across Retayne while looking at clothes dyes. My black jeans had faded to nothing more than a grey, and I figured I would dye them to bring them back to life. One dye reviewer recommended Retayne. Well, I havent yet dyed those jeans, and I will give you an update on when I do. But I did buy some new black jeans, and as recommended on the Retayne label, I treated them with Retayne on the first wash. So after treating them, on vacation and being the cheap guy that I am, I was washing all of my clothes in the kitchen sink by hand. Underwear, socks, shirts--quite obvious as I washed that even with these older clothes, dye was coming out into the wash water. Then I got to my black jeans--their first wash since I treated them with Retayne. Amazingly, there was no detectable color bleed--quite a contrast to my other laundry. The wastewater was soapy only, the rinse water clear. I am glad I bought the large size, because from now on I intend to treat all of my new clothes with Retayne, before they start their otherwise inevitable color bleed. Ill give you an update after I dye my old formerly black jeans--just waiting to get back home to do that in my own washer. What I can say for now is that this stuff definitely works on new fabrics. Those black jeans I just bought and treated are the same jeans (Levis 559 black) that are now grey after a couple of years of cold washes. Well see how Retayne works in retaining the dye from home-dyed fabrics.

As a quilter, I struggled to find something that would keep my fabrics from bleeding. Then I heard about Retayne. It really works! Use 1 teaspoon per 1 yard of fabric. I have been using this for about 5 years.

I use this to wash my newly made quilts to help with color bleed. Works great!
