Disappointing, but I knew it was a gamble to try this product on a synthetic fabric. My black skirt stayed black, without even a hint of the turquoise dye I tried to tint it with.

Received quickly and as described

I purchased this product to use with new dark rinse stretch denim capris. It was ok. My washer was blue when wash cycle was done and I had also put in 9 color catchers for the 5 pairs of capris I was washing. (followed label directions...including washing on HOT) The worst part is the color was ALL over my hands as I switched the laundry to the dryer...Washed them again in cold water to see if that would help (without the Retayne)...this seemed to be a little less blue on hands but washer was blue...again. Cleaned washer and dried my leggings for about 15 min. then hung them up to finish drying. (the bottle does say to dry immediately). This appeared to be a BIG help. The capris seem to be much better....a very little bit of dye transfer. I only gave it 3 stars because the washer turned blue and there was a TON of color that came out of the capris...It seems to work ok (it is also for cottons so I have to give a little leeway because the capris are only 97% cotton 3% spandex). Would definitely try again. Not perfect but I believe it was a help.

I have used this before and it is great for pre washing batiks.

Hekos with colorfastness

I made a quilt in which the backing left dye all over my sewing machine so I knew it was going to bleed all over the quilt when I washed it. I added a few capfuls of Retayne to the wash and had no bleeds!

I always prewash my batiks in Retayne before using them in quilts. I have not had any fading or color bleed. I won’t sew with batiks without Retayne and I use batiks a lot!

I had a quilt that was bright colors and white. After testing a corner, I knew the colors would bleed. I used Retayne and the colors stayed fixed. It even took out some of the staining on my test corner, An amazing product!
