Noise level is next to nothing! I am used to my big compressor and I am a changed man now lol!

It is quiet. It only has one tank, so it doesnt run forever before shutting off. It has a real pressure switch, rather than the cheap electronic switches many of the other small compressors have. Yes, they are all electronic, but this has a real pressure switch just like the big boy compressors. And, the price is right. Way better value for the money compared to something like a blue hawk from lowes. Ive got both, and this is hands down a better unit, and a better buy!

Cant beat this for a home gamer like me. Needed a finish nailer to do the trim in my bedroom. Using a 16 gauge nailer, I got 5-7 hits before it would kick on for 10-15 seconds. The regulator, switch, drain valve, and safety/release valve all feel pretty well-made and are nice to use. For an air compressor, this thing is freaky quiet. Almost just sounds like an unusually loud refrigerator. Using the 16 gauge nailer, it did lose a little bit of steam on the later shots before it kicked on, but it was never anything that couldnt be solved with a nail set (which you should have on hand anyway). Really happy to have this thing around. Especially for the money.

Comparing this to my Husky 3 gal, which may be the noisiest compressor available, this Senco is very quiet. I dont need earplugs while its pumping up. Its quick to achieve 125PSI, and it does have enough air to shoot staples. Not many, but enough if you go slowly. As is mentioned elsewhere, the regulator seems to be moderately poor. The pressure at the nail gun seems to vary quite a bit, and sometimes drops too low before the compressor restarts. So if you are doing fine furniture, youd probably better look further, or get a better regulator, or something. But if youre just stapling screens, or tacking, or something where the nailset depth isnt critical on every shot, then this is a pretty attractive tool.

Bought this, was super pleased with it. Works great for running a brad nailer or a stapler. Wont keep up with a framing gun, but I didnt expect it to. Runs quiet enough to have a normal volume conversation next to. But heres the kicker: I bought a similar Blue Hawk compressor from Lowes just recently that runs quieter, weighs less, ALSO keeps up pretty well with a framing gun, and came with a trim stapling gun, coil hose and all the necessary attachments... For significantly less. So this Senco is not a bad investment by any means of youre looking for something to run trim without the hassle of a big noisy compressor, but its still not the best deal Ive found.

This compressor is exactly what I expected. It is light, there for very portable. It is great for finish work. I do light framing with the compressor but because of its size and weight you have to be patient. I have a much larger compressor for framing. I;m very with this unit.

As others have written, this unit is lightweight and quiet compared to slight larger compressors. I have a craftsman 1.5 hp compressor that is heavy and rusting away and it is much louder than this senco unit. Because of its low cfm, it forced me to consider if it was too small for my Bostitch trim nailer which seemed to require much higher cfm. Turns out the nailer cfm rating were for 100 nails per minute! The only application I have seen at that rate is a mexican nailing on a roof. If one is carefully nailing trim, a rate of 5 per minute is more likely. Upon using this compressor and the nailer, I found it worked just fine. It will probably work for larger nailers also but will not work for rotary power tools and the like that require continuous cfm. Also I found senco support to be quickly responsive. I went to their web site to download a digital copy of the manual and found an out-of-date version. I filled out their web form on a Sunday asking for the newer version and had it in an email before noon on Monday. Hard to beat.

The new Senco compressor arrived yesterday, plugged it and timed the build up. One minute 15 second to full 125 PSI. This will be my second purchase of the Senco compressor of this model. My first purchase was in 1993. That machine is still working. Only issue after 26 years the compressor portion of the unit has worn itself out, taking longer to build up pressure and not able to keep up with 18 gauge finish nailer. The unit has been used extensively over the years. Will update this review if I find that it fails in anyway.

This compressor was purchased as a hobby usage compressor, it arrived in unscathed condition, opening and reviewing the direction booklet which was very concise and clear, I filed the serial number and proceeded to fire this puppy up. The compressor sets on rubber feet and on a tile floor with 15 foot ceilings it was exceptionally quiet, and filled the 1 gallon tank in a little less than the book stated of 144 seconds. As a test I let the pressure stand on the tank for 3 days no bleed down, the regulator works well and is fine tunable, to me it is very heavy duty in its build and actually a stronger looking unit than I had expected. When it fills the 125psi on the tank and only using 30 psi at the regulator for airbrushing it sets a while before needing to restart and fill the tank. I like it better than the pancake diaphragm unit it is replacing. Only down side was the quick connect is not marked as to the style a,b or c plug in so I had to remove it to get the proper plug in if it was stamped it would be better. I forgot to add the quick connect info, it is a IM style connect..02192015

i didnt think this compressor could be so quiet until i heard a friends unit. literally is a purr you can talk over in normal volume with it at your feet. i got tired of refilling my air can from the big garage compressor for use in the basement now and then with small airbrush and air tools and blow off. this unit really fit the bill. quiet enough that you can hear it outside the basement in the rest of the house so perfect! plus it doesnt take your hearing away like most small compressors tend to do! big rubber feet means you can set it on anything and it does not mar or move at all when running. light weight enough to lift and swing with one arm easily, no worry about wrenching your back if you move wrong carrying it. really a jewel!
