Senco PC1010 1/2- Horsepower 1-Gallon Matte Finish and Trim Portable Hot Dog Air Compressor, Gray/Red

Im a job lead for a general contractor, this little compressor seems to do everything it is supposed to do! As long as you are setting your expectations up for success it should not disappoint. A lot of the existing reviews are spot on, trim guns, great! Roofing and framing guns, not at all, the only time Id even consider those is if I only had a few nails to shoot and a paslode gun was not handy, but at that point Id still hand drive nails first....... My 16g Hitachi brad gun is about all this compressor can handle, after about 10 shots I have to wait for the compressor to catch up. Which is ok when installing a board or two at a time, not so ok if you are expecting to nail a whole room full of precut trim off in one go. It will keep up handily with my 18g brad nailer, I put it though its paces a couple weeks ago installing 3 1/8 bead boards for wainscoting. I installed 12 straight boards, stopping every 4th board to chck plumb, and it was running almost continuously, but did not leave me short of air. I havnt used it with a 23g pinner yet, but Im sure it would be perfectly fine. Dont hook your air blower up and expect to get more then a few seconds worth of air, thats simply not what this unit is designed for. The power cord is a reasonable length, 6 or so, Ive coupled my compressor with a 25 flexeel hose and its so light/quiet/compact moving it from room to room as you go is not really much of an annoyance. I dont know if running a longer hose would create too much pressure drop. I did use this to air up a couple tires on my truck just to see how it went. Poor bugger had to cycle 3 times to add 10lbs of air to each tire. Not great really, but did the job in a pinch. Anyway, to sum things up, as long as you dont expect too much from this fine little machine, you wont be unhappy. It is a part time use machine, really only suited for trim guns!

I always wondered if the people that write one star reviews are just disgruntled idiots who dont really know how to use the tool they are complaining about....well know I lnow thats not the case! Let me start by saying I have now owned 4 of these compressors.This exact one the Senco PC1010 the first one I owned worked with out issue for 1 year the other three have never made it past 4 months.I am a professional refacer of cabinets and I use this with a 23 gauge pin nailer.Average use is 5 to 8 days a month. They just arnt made to last.I am careful with my tools and keep in the house and clean.The three have all had different issues, but today takes the cake..Im done.The two I had at the job site house both quit working properly with in 1 hour of each other. Compressor no.1 would fully fill its tank and the gauges read 125 psi but after 4 or 5 pins there was no more air being distributed from the compressor.So that one was done ! We tried letting it cool down for several hours ...still the same thing.Compressor no.2 would run until it got to 125 psi then on its own let out air back to 100psi.then after one 23 gauge pin nail it would start running g again and start the cycle all over.this is not pro gear not even weekend warrior quality.It has major production and quality flaws and should be recalled.By the way compressor no.3 back at the shop started doing the cycling itself to fill and then release all the air even with out firing pins ,just does it endlesslyover and over..what junk.I have switched to Makita.Not sure who is writing all these good reviews, but would you want to roll the dice on 3 different compressors taking a dump bought at 3 different times over the course of a year...not me ! Learn from my issues stay away from this product.

The new Senco compressor arrived yesterday, plugged it and timed the build up. One minute 15 second to full 125 PSI. This will be my second purchase of the Senco compressor of this model. My first purchase was in 1993. That machine is still working. Only issue after 26 years the compressor portion of the unit has worn itself out, taking longer to build up pressure and not able to keep up with 18 gauge finish nailer. The unit has been used extensively over the years. Will update this review if I find that it fails in anyway.

I liked the portability and low noise of this compressor. However it was inadequate for the heavier nailing I want to do. I think you need to better aware of your needs before purchasing any compressor. I needed more CFM and faster recovery.

I havent used it a lot yet but so far it has been great. Pumps up quickly, has plenty of pressure and air volume for my needs. Most of my uses are for smaller things like air brushes and tires but it did a great job when I used my Bosch pneumatic stapler to mount some art on frames. I really like the attached quick release and tank and output gauges. And it is so much more convenient than my 60 gal dual cylinder compressor and a lot quieter.

Purchased from Amazon using a gift card....transaction and shipping could not have been smoother. I gave SENCO a try based on other comments I have heard about the quality of thier tools. I have been using it for about 4 weeks doing small trim jobs and putting in pre-hung doors. And it performs great! I usually have it set to about 65PSI for my trim/brad nailers and I get about 9-11 shots before it kicks on to refill the tank. Very quiet and very light for quick, inside jobs. I can be a room or two over from my napping toddler and he sleeps right thru the tank refilling. I think the gun driving the nail/brad might be louder. The only thing I wish SENCO did different was built a roll-cage type enclosure for the pump and assocated electronics. The Dewalt models have this feature and I think it is a worthwhile idea. Overall, an excellent purchase....

Yes, it is low volume. But, that is exactly what it is advertised to be. For what it is, the quality is very good. It is very quiet, which is good because I do not want to disturb my neighbors in the RV parks. I use it to air up my RV tires (QTY 4 - 80 psi), the airbag on my pinbox, the airbags on my truck and my truck tires (80 psi). This works very well for what I use it for. Since it only uses 4 amps it does not load my RV generator much and since it is lightweight it is great to have onboard my RV. Ive have tried the cheap 12 VDC compressors for this RV application and I wasted my money.

I had one of these about 15 years ago and sold it because I had a big compressor. I regretted it, so I bought another one. I use it for airing up tires on the all my vehicles. It was a great compressor then, and they are making them the same way now. Its small, so dont expect to run an impact. It fills and stays full. It doesnt lose air and keep cycling. Its also very quiet in my opinion.

i didnt think this compressor could be so quiet until i heard a friends unit. literally is a purr you can talk over in normal volume with it at your feet. i got tired of refilling my air can from the big garage compressor for use in the basement now and then with small airbrush and air tools and blow off. this unit really fit the bill. quiet enough that you can hear it outside the basement in the rest of the house so perfect! plus it doesnt take your hearing away like most small compressors tend to do! big rubber feet means you can set it on anything and it does not mar or move at all when running. light weight enough to lift and swing with one arm easily, no worry about wrenching your back if you move wrong carrying it. really a jewel!

I bought this to replace the original one I bought 12 years ago that was still working perfect it was abused and showing signs of neglect. The compressor is super quite light weight and durable I use it weekly take it right into the customers homes to do work. I was so happy when I found the same compressor I had for 12 years with not one issue.
