> 3 dayI was impressed that this kit did as many projects as it described! I bought 2 kits because I was worried about there not being enough to make 17 shirts for my 5th grade students but I have an entire kit leftover and we had to dump a lot of extra mixed color we didn’t get used. It is okay I got 2 kits as several students wanted the same colors, but I intend on just using the color selection that I have left with next years class! I ordered shirts off of jiffy and htv vinyl off Amazon to put our school name. Cost less than $5/shirt all in and the kids love them! Very pleased.

> 3 dayFrom the pictures that other people posted, these tulip dyes looked weak and diluted so I my expectations were very low. But after seeing the results of this crumpled mandala tank I made for my bf, I am a firm believer that you don’t need expensive Porcion dyes to make a super sick intricate tie dye (though I will be investing in them at some point) especially if you’re a beginner, like me, looking to tie dye for the first time. What worked best for me was getting needle tip bottles and concentrating the dye, so I put half the amount of the powder from the Tulip bottles in my tiny bottles then filled those up with water. These bottles are about half the size of the Tulip bottles and really help you control the amount of dye you’re using. As for the background, I used the Tulip bottles to really get better spread with the Blue and Black from the pack. 24 hours later, I rinsed with ICE COLD water then did another ice cold wash in the sink with diluted dawn dish soap. The shirt I used was 95% Bamboo Rayon and 5% Spandex. I was concerned that those materials wouldn’t hold on to this dye well, but I was wrong. I couldn’t have asked for a better result. Just make sure that if you want your tie dye to last that you’re washing super cold and separate from your other laundry then hang drying!

> 3 dayWe bought some tie-dye kits as birthday gifts for grandkids (out of town)...& it looked like it was going to be so much fun, that we bought one for ourselves! Boy was it ever fun! This kit may seem like it has a ton of dye (18 bottles), but we actually used ALL OF IT...lol. Made 5 adult (mens) XXL & 5 XL t-shirts plus 6 bandanas. ( if you were using this for kids, would surely make 3x as much:) Kit is great ~ besides dye, there are gloves, rubber bands, a table covering (will definitely need this!) and an easy to understand instruction guide. The bottom half of the very nice plastic case serves as a catcher for the dye; as recommended, we put wire racks (like cooling racks for baking) over the top of this box (& also a disposable aluminum pan)...then when you apply the dye to the fabric, excess (mostly:) drips in the box/pan below ~ much less messy than putting things directly on table. When done, the box/case was so nice, we saved it...& are using it for something else. Absolutely would buy this again, great product for a very reasonable price!

07-04-2025I ordered this for a younger teen for Christmas. It came with so many more colors and supplies than I really expected it to! The plastic case was good quality too and perfect for storage!

> 3 dayFor the price this is one of the best tie dye kits I’ve used! Tons of fun colors, rubber bands and gloves for a group! Plenty of dye for multiple items and step by step instructions of how to fold to get your desired pattern.

07-04-2025These did the job, but we didn’t really like how runny the ink was after the water was added. It made it kind of a mess and hard to control where the color went. Also could have used more rubber bands since this is supposed to be good for a ton of projects. Great for the price, but not my favorite tie dye kit I’ve ever bought. Still a fun project!

10-04-2025Bought 2 big tie dye kits and planned to print out the free printable for decorating and the after care instructions for tie dye to stick on each bag for the kids to take them home and wash. I tried on my phone at first, then I got my computer and tried downloading them. I never could get them downloaded so I just had to make do with what I had or could find/buy somewhere else. So be prepared to make your own instructions for kids to take home. Also several bottles I noticed had slits/cuts so as I filled the bottles I noticed and had to hurry and put the bottle into a plastic cup to prevent dye from getting all over the place. Other than that it was a fun tie dye party. But very misleading as it says several times and there are several Tulip videos that mentions the printable.. but as I stated never could download. It kept saying something along lines of this site is for sale? So I just stopped messing with it.

> 3 dayWe had paid full price for one of these kits and they turned out so well we decided to do more tie-dye. In ordering a second one, I found an Open Box/Like New option. This one turned out to be an older version (the bottles looked different and the colors didnt turn out as vibrant as the first kit), plus 3 of the bottles had 1/4 the amount of powdered dye that the others had. I assume someone bought it, used what they needed, and returned it. They werent colors we absolutely needed so I chalked it up to having gotten it at a discount, but beware of the open box items. That said, the Tulip dye kits are easy to use and the shirts we did with the original kit turned out great!
