> 3 dayOur tie dye looked amazing until we did our rinse. Then all the colors washed away even though the shirts were prewashed and we left the dye on for 24 hours. These are easy to use and my 3 year old granddaughter had fun and loved her shirts but dont expect professional results.

> 3 dayWe used this at the end of our year with over 130 students. They came in 5 different groups of over 20 kids each aged 3-11. It was easy to organize and create a system of use so the adults were able to help each child as much as they needed. Our teacher has used other tie-dye supplies for the companies and she liked this one best. The colors after washing looked really good and bright. I cannot say how long they last though.

> 3 dayI love the idea of this product, the color variety is great and the box and everything that comes with it is great too. However the quality of the actual dye is very poor. They wash out almost immediately no matter what you do to set the colors. End result is tie dye that looks faded and muddy because everything runs together. What’s worse is that the color keeps dripping no matter how many washes the fabric goes through, so you can’t wear any of the clothes because it continues to stain your skin and any other fabric it the tie dye touches. you would be MUCH better off spending a little more money and having a product that comes out right and actually lasts.

Greater than one weekBased off reviews I decided to order this item over other tie dye kits because I had 21 items I was planning on dying. Without over using the product and wasting dye (we were careful to not waste and almost didn’t use enough on a few shirts) we did not have enough dye to complete what we planned to dye. The colors were vibrant and wonderful selection of colors. It is very falsely advertised that this will make 36 items. 9 of the items we made were baby onesies that barely needed dye. We could have used bigger bottles and found that 1 of these small bottles covered 1 shirt. We died adult small 9 shirts, 9 baby onesies, 1 small baby blanket. I will order 2 of this kit and one of the XL kits for the future because we did enjoy the color variety that the XL kit doesn’t offer.. great product and best value just don’t be fooled by “36 projects” or the reviews saying 1 bottle makes 3 shirts because it doesn’t........ they’re little small bottles! My son used 1 whole bottle of black and it barely covered 1 shirt with half staying white. To get the best color vibrancy we let the shirts soak in individual zip lock bags for 20 hours in 70°+ outside and 2 hours in the 100°+ sun to seal. Then rinsed in cold, warm then hot water until clear as reviews suggested and then washed in 3 separate small loads with detergent. We’ve used several different Tulip kits and still feel this gave the best color selection, my only wish is the bottles were a little larger.... we planned to dye 23 items and ran out before we could finish. The last item dyed was a random combo dye of whatever was left over in each bottle because I didn’t want to waste it. Make sure you wipe down bottles before touching bare handed because there was a lot of loose dye powder on each bottle. When mixing I wiped down each bottle with a wet rag (don’t skip this step!!)

> 3 dayWe had about 6 kids over for a party plus parents. I ordered one bc of reviews that said one is enough. When I got it the bottles were so small so I got another. We used one full out plus 4 bottles from the 2nd with the popular colors. This is my first time doing this. But I attached a photo to show two different results after rinse and wash. On the first photo on the top is a vibrant one, on the bottom is a ok one but a little faded, it looked so good before washing it. Most of mine faded after wash and I followed instructions. I let both stew in the bag for 17 hours. So here are my tips, if you want vibrant and contrast in the result, you must tie the bands tight AND be very generous with the dye. It is easy to use half a bottle on one tee shirt. So each bin comes with two bottles of each color (or at least the popular colors). So if you get one and you are worried it wont last for all the projects you want to do, you will not saturate the shirt enough because you want everyone to have enough dye. So I would advise get another box just in case. And then make sure you are using the tightness of the band to prevent the dye from dying the fabric and then generously apply the dye so that it really gets into the fabric. If you dont put enough and the bands arent tight enough then it will fade during the rinse and wash. But I havent tested my theory. In the future if I really want vibrant I would probably do it without the party so I can focus on mine being really good and vibrant. I even dyed a few for myself before the party but I was concerned about using up too much dye so they first looked amazing but when I rinsed and washed and dried they faded a lot and the white spots got a smidge bluish. The other two photos you can see the range of results I got.

> 3 dayMaking tie dye t-shirts is a highlight of our camping trip in the summer. Everyone can participate, and the “unveiling” of the shirt when it’s rinsed is a lot of fun. It’s a mess, but we plan for that, and the kids proudly wear their shirts that they made afterwards. It’s hard for the kids to wait until the next day to unwrap the shirts because they have to sit for 12 hours or so but it adds to the anticipation
