TurboTax Home & Business Federal + e-File + State 2010 - [Old Version]

I dont know what is wrong with Intuit, but for the second year in a row I have purchased TurboTax Home and Business, had to take more than three hours waiting on the phone,talking with support, downloading removing and reinstalling programs, only to find out that out that the program doesnt work and they will be sending me a new disc to see if that works. I hope I can finish my taxes, but it is almost March now, and Im concerned about TurboTaxs ability to produce a product that works. It always seems full of problems, and I dont like the interface, often having to go to the forms to fill them out properly, and then having to check the result to ensure that TurboTax didnt duplicate anything, which it has done on more than one occasion.

I always use Turbo tax. I think it is easy for the novice s to use. Although if you dont know a lot about tax law you may miss out on some deductions. I used to do taxes professionally so I know what Im looking for.

This is the seventh year we have used this program and it always works well for us.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and it is an excellent product. They make it so easy for entering your tax data from tax forms and they do the rest of the work through placing it on required tax forms. (However, do not use the download version even though this costs considerably less than the disk. I have seen many complaints about technical problems in downloading the progrqam.) If you will use this product instead of an accountant, you WILL save lots of money which is left for YOU to use!

I was not happy with my purchase. The process is confusing and too long. Used TurboTax last year and worked easily; this years product was much different. No help on the help line either. I accidently typed a number in the wrong place and could not remove it by any means. Wont use this brand next year! Also Amazon did not disclose that you had to pay an additional amount for efiling of state taxes. That should have been on the label along with Federal & Efile & State. The additional $19.95 to efile for state should have been in the advertisement. Am disappointed with Amazon.

For about the 7th year I used TurboTax to do my personal and sole proprietorship taxes. This year I did returns for my ex-wife and a former girlfriend who had simpler needs. The only thing that would have been better would have been free state E-file. $19.95 is a bit steep for that option.

Ive used TurboTax for over 25 years. This year they seems to have changed their business model with respect to the ability to do a state tax return. As stated in the product description and printed on the box, one (1) state software download is included. In past years, this one state software download would process more than one state tax return within that state. However this year, when actually using the product, it will only allow you to process a single tax return for that state. In the past, I have always done my own and my kids returns - both Federal and State (all in the same state). I first processed my own Federal and State returns. When I proceeded to do my kids returns, I could process all three Federal returns without a hitch. In order to process their State returns (all in the same state as my own), it demanded another state download for each kids return at a cost of $39.95 each. They have apparently changed their business model; and this is just not right! Im very disappointed!

Sue me - Ive been using Turbo Tax since almost its inception. Ive been doing my own, and the taxes of friends, for years - long enough that I used to buy a Guide and do it all by hand. I find Turbo Tax quite easy to use, and I have never found a reason to switch. It is good for those who need to be walked through everything, and also for those who know what theyre looking for - it is almost always easy to find the right form/section, although if there is one flaw is that sometimes even I, an experienced user, cant quite jump to where I want to go, but find myself having to go through a hierarchy. My favorite part about buying this product on Amazon was the deep discount. I shopped around a lot before choosing to make my purchase here.

This is a great product. I usually have someone else do my taxes. But Turbo Tax walked me through the process. I was able to complete the process without serious issues. It even picked up my W2s, and 1099s online. I really appreciated the audit risk analysis at the end and the suggestions to reduce risk which I did. It then e-filed my tax returns. My refund came a week later for state and two weeks later for federal. Moreover, my refund was significantly higher than previously, and I didnt have to pay to get my taxes done other than the cost of Turbo Tax software and the cost to e-file. All in all, I was greatly pleased.

We have been doing our taxes with Turbo Tax for years. It is simple and easy to use, and WAY less expensive than hiring someone to do your taxes. Besides, they use tax software to do your taxes so why not cut the middle man? The only thing you have to do is gather up your information and enter it into the program when prompted. At the end, you are even given an opportunity to plan for next years taxes. I highly recommend this program!
