> 3 dayThis thing is a little tough to setup but works fine once you get it connected. I had to factory reset it a few times and plug it in right next to the router to get it to connect. The application could be better but once you get used to it, it works Once you get through the setup it does everything well. I can turn it off and on quickly from the app or set a schedule pretty easily from my smart phone. Ive had it out in the snow and below zero temperatures so I can attest to how weather proof it is.

31-03-2025I ordered two of these. One is still working perfectly, the second one was pretty much bad out of the box. I dont use these very often, mostly just for decor lighting during holidays. It displayed a red light for power and the wi fi light would blink but never recognize in the list of wifi connections. I also tried it at work just to rule out the connection portion. I just got around to fiddling with the 2nd one to see what the problem was as it wouldnt reset. Following the advise of some other users, I began to unscrew the back cover only to see a SCREW THAT WAS ALREADY STRIPPED. Which leads me to believe the 2nd one I bought was merely recycled damaged goods. I was able to get the cover off and noticed that a soldered connection fell off upon opening. Having two full time jobs I dont have time to get the soldering kit out so wont be rebuying these. Buyer beware.

Greater than one weekI bought three WiOn products five months ago and extremely happy with all of them. To minimize writing, my reviews for all three are very similar. What a product! What a convenience! I bought this and WiOn 50050 and 50052 and they have made my life Sooooo much easier. Im using 50050 for the lights on the front porch which is controlled from a switch inside the front door, use 50052 for the living room and this one for outside lights which light up outside landscape. All controlled from one app on my iPhone. Although they are all scheduled and dont need me to mess with them every day, but I, often, override the schedule and change them as needed; from home or if Im miles away. As long as I have internet connection, which is almost anywhere, Im connected. Writing this review five months after purchase and very very happy with them. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayI have had this working over the winter to turn on the outside lights on my patio. The construction of the outlet is pretty good, it connected right up and had zero issues working with the amazon alexa. The reason I gave it three stars is the app. The outlet has been deleted from the app 3 times already on it own. All of a sudden alexa says the device is not responding and it is because the outlet is no longer recognized as a device in Wions app. I have to go back out and set the outlet up again, then put it back in the alexa app and everything works again. Its extremely annoying, but I guess if I would have spent a little more I wouldnt have to reset my outlet every so often.

> 3 day4 of use, one iPad and 3 iPhones wanted to control the one WiOn switched 120 volt outlet. 2 of the 4 it woks great on. The other 2 for some reason will only work on the Wi-Fi network. Ive emailed the company but haven’t gotten a response yet. If I do I’ll edit this review

> 3 dayThis just doesnt work. You could spend hrs trying to get it to connect to Wi-Fi. By the time you either give up or do get an actual working device, you will have already bought a different brand. STAY AWAY! of the 6 I ordered, only 2 ended up working and then 1 died over the years. Figured to retry my luck only to relive the hell of trying to get it to connect and then ultimately accepting defeat.

> 3 dayThe instructions leave a bit to the imagination, but after I figured out how to initially connect this thing to my router its been working flawlessly since. I use the Android app and have no issues. There is about a 10-30 second delay on turning the outlets on/off manually, but I can deal with that easily. Its in a very wet environment and exposed to all the elements so its holding up as advertised. Dont expect it to manage each of the two outlets independently. Both outlets turn on/off together. I would definitely buy another unit. Just be patient with the setup. Its probably not faulty - it just has faulty instructions.

> 3 daySuper handy device. It does the job, but has a few hiccups along the way, hence the 4 star rating. We have a guest and an internal network on an Asus router. For some reason, the guest network was visible to the WiOn device, but the internal network was not showing up. It took me a bit to realize that I could manually enter a WiFi network (SSID and credentials). Once I manually typed in the network info, the WiOn connected fine and has been solid since. The app is good, and does the job. The interface is a little clunky, and does not look like an iOS app, but it gets the job done. At this time, it doesnt appear to have any integration with Apples HomeKit. We use this for our Christmas tree. Whipping out my phone to turn the tree on to show it off sure beats having to climb under the branches, getting sappy, and potentially knocking off ornaments.

> 3 dayI ordered two, not knowing what to expect based on prior reviews and hoping they would work at the distance I needed. They worked perfectly! I like the app, though selecting one to program when you have multiple is not intuitive, but once you figure it out, easy enough. The app allows for multiple times to turn on. I used them for outdoor Christmas lights. This was a great choice!

> 3 dayGreat idea. Works great when finally working. The Good: I can control various outdoor lights with the 4 devices I purchased. with the wion app and alexa. Worked through the snow we received in NY this weekend. Now that they are set up I really like controlling and scheduling outdoor lighting from anywhere. The Bad: Set up was a nightmare. Part of it was because I have a big property and had to assign different wifi networks to different wion devices and always check which had the strongest signal. The biggest problem was the instructions and the app. Sometimes the app didnt find any wifi. Or the app went out of set up. Then my android phone asked me if I wanted to stay connected to the wion device. Because this step wasnt in the app, I ignored it and never connected. I spent fruitless time resetting the wion to factory setting to try to connect.. Finally I instructed my phone to stay connected to the wion device and then connected promptly to wifi. The device plugs into a receptacle with a very rigid 90 degree plug, which made it impossible to put 2 wion devices directly into one receptacle. Dont plan on using 2 wion on one receptacle. The cord is very short and stiff, so it is hard to position with the plugs down to avoid water entry into the plugs. There are 2 outlets on the device. 3 would be more sensible. Im using 5Watt LED lights so power draw isnt an issue. In addition, the rim around the outlets is close so big outdoor plugs are a tight fit. In brief, poor industrial design and installation instructions, but a great concept and it seems to work well.
