I bought two of these to use for Christmas lights and both work perfectly. The 2nd one was a little bit harder to set up until I unplugged my 1st one, then it set up instantly just like my first one did. I use the timer for the entire week and that has worked flawlessly and reliably. Im very happy with these and would recommend them for sure.

Worked great for a while, then we had to unplug and re-plug several times a week to get it to connect with Alexa. This week NONE of the 3 we have worked with Alexa and would not connect no matter what we tried. Checked the WiOn app and saw several people had the same problem starting THIS week. No longer compatible with Alexa. I ordered 3 OTHER brand plugs that I have had success with. LOOK ELSEWHERE!! If you are OK with just using the WiOn app it works fine. We bought specifically on the promise to work with Alexa. *UPDATE: Returned these plugs and purchased the Kasa plugs. SO easy to I install and work like a charm with Alexa! Also, BOTH plugs on each unit can be controlled separately. ( Not so with the WiOn plugs.)

Lets just say I have wasted an hour trying to get it to work. Customer service helpfully sent me this email information which should have been included in the original instructions. Since I dont know how to disable my 5 GHZ band on my router (installed by my cable company) and am tired of working on this, I will return it. USES BAND WIDTH: 2.4GHz Band width if 5.0 or higher will not connect. Check your router settings, try resetting your router. If your router has dual band width then you will need to disable the higher. Here are some troubleshooting suggestions for you to consider. For initial set-up be within. 3 ft. of your router. Also, you need to look in your phone settings in data usage – allow permission for WiOn app to use data. With the WiOn device hard-wired or plugged in, the process to add a WiOn device is: 1. Go into your phones SETTINGS 2. Then WI-FI settings 3. Look for a new network named ECO### and connect to it NOTE: IF IT SAYS CANNOT FIND INTERNET – JUST MOVE ON 4. NEXT STEP: (this is when you open WiOn app) (Note: if it does not find the router then hit the + button on your WiOn app to add your router) Follow the on-screen directions to add your country, zip code/area code, name of router(this is name of your network) and Wi-Fi password, your phone will then attach that WiOn device to your local network, the new device will now be listed on the main screen of the app and ready to use. If it does not connect: Delete the WiOn app and reinstall it. NOTE: IPhone users must go to app store to install new app not the app that is stored on the Cloud. Then once it is reinstalled go into your iphone settings (not the WiOn app settings), go to WiFi and see if a new network called “ECO” followed by some numbers appears. If it does, connect to that network and follow the onscreen instructions, which should ultimately lead you into the WiOn app and your device will appear.

Some of these reviews are really bad. I guess its the same with most everything - people throw away instructions then cant figure out how to reconfigure. Dudes have all the time in the world to get on here and leave a bad review but not enough time to google how to fix their issue or search for instructions. Well Im here to buy a third one! These work great. I use the ECO Plugs smartphone app and Alexa. -BroSun

Fantastic device, quite easy to set up and it seems to be working reliably after 4 days in use. I am using it to remotely control a pond aerator that requires a very specific on/off schedule. An added benefit of using a WIFI-enabled device in the cloud is that I know the house power and my home wifi network are functioning generally, and also that the aerators circuit has not tripped the GFI. This unit can handle 15 amps and 1000 watts, well above the 1/3 hp 5-amp draw (650 watts) of my pond aerator motor. The WiOn app on my iPhone is easy to use and offers great programming flexibility as well as manual on/off override independent of the time settings.

This is a really good product for the price. I got mine at a very low price as a Lightning Deal, but even at the regular price its cheaper than any indoor single tap Wi-Fi plug. Really simple to set up and use. Plugged it in, loaded the WiOn app, discovered the device, then added it to Alexa with the name Christmas Lights. Plugged my outdoor Christmas lighting into it, and voila, I could tell Alexa to turn on the Christmas Lights. Worked perfectly every time! (I would intentionally forget to turn them on when my grandson was coming over, so he could tell Alexa to turn them on--he was quite entertained by that.)

used on outdoor plug that controls a fountain. wanted to be able to turn off fountain remotely if I left for weekend, etc. and forgot to turn off. ( dont want to ruing pump with no water). Works great. App was easy to install on iphone and easy to connect to Wi-fi. would work well for Christmas lights too. Since I have a couple different home automation items I have combined them in their own folder on iphone so they are easy to find.

Works great. I use it to turn on the block heater for my diesel pickup. My only problem has been between the chest freezer and block heater on the circuit it adds just enough amps to the GFI that it will trip sometimes. Not sure if its because of the extra plug connection in the mix, some corrosion on the plugs involved, or the tiny amount of power this thing draws. Gonna clean up the plug ends and put dielectric grease on them to see if it helps. If not Ill go pick up a GFI with a higher current rating.

Great purchase. For the price of not much more than a typical outdoor-rated timer, I was able to get this WiOn. Ive been using it extensively for the past month to control my outdoor Christmas lights. It took less than 10 minutes to figure it out and get everything working with my lights on a timer. Remote access through the app is super simple and works with no discernible lag via Wi-Fi or cellular connection (I am running the Android version of the app). The only negative is that I dont think this can be controlled by other popular app-based controllers (WeMo, etc.), but I could be wrong. Also, I have not yet tried using this with my Amazon Echo devices to test Alexa support, but I know that it is supported.
