Been a long time user of Dakota Products. Always dependable.

To hard to set up, Misses 5% of cars passing detector. Good part is do not get the number of false alarms as old mode.

Like most electronic items from China, they dont work 100% of the time. This driveway alert works about 9 out of 10 times, not ideal, but better than some others Ive bought on Amazon.

I cant speak t the adjustment of volume, but the sensitivity in motion range and the loudness of the siren lets me finally sleep in peace knowing that if someone is coming, Ill know. I use different systems with redundancy because if wi-fi is out, or someone cut electric wires on the camera, cell towers down. its all happened. This does not disappoint and at a great price!

This is my third Dakota Alert. The first was fried by lightning, the second died a natural death. This latest DCMA-4000 is much simpler to set up, seems to have greater range, and has more alarm sound choices. Deer still set it off, but an alert is better than none. The outdoor enclosure is the same as the previous model, with which I had a problem. After a few years, the transmitter stopped working. I opened up the box and rain had infiltrated past the rubber o-ring seal. I dried out the box and pc board, and coated the o-ring with silicone grease which remedied the problem. I consider this a well-engineered product and will probably buy the next generation if and when this one dies. I also like that its made in the US.

We live in the forest so being awakened to Bear breaking into trash trailer so we can minimize damage or the delight of wildlife strolling through, plus the security of knowing if 2 legged animals trespassing adds security.

Hit and miss on detecting vehicles coming up or leaving via the driveway. My son drops off his daughter at my house before daylight. Hasnt ever detected his truck. I have the range set at 25 and it is less than that to the driveway. Usually detects people walking in driveway.

This was a waste of money for us. It will pick up a person walking in front of it and some cars if they are driving up the driveway very slow. It will not pick the car up again on the way out. Too bad we were gone when this came so we cant send it or the receiver back. I found one at Harbor Freight here in town for $17.00 and works like a charm.

This is the second Dakota alert alarm we have purchased. The first one lasted approximately 10 years. Love this Brand. We use it as a drive way alarm on our farm. Lets us know when someone is hear before they pull up to the door. The signal has to pass through a couple of buildings, and works perfect. It detects the motion VERY well. You can control the volume to very loud to off. Installation was a breeze. We attached it to a wooden pole and tested it. It worked just as well if not better than our older Dakota. I would strongly suggest this Dakota Alert alarm.
