    Lactose intolerant

I have had a horrid lactose intolerance since I was a kid and its a royal pain. Milk, ice cream and some cheeses (not all) trigger the worst series of events imaginable--well, not the worst perhaps, but not pleasant! If youve ever seen Meg Ryans great movie French Kiss there is a GREAT lactose-intollerance scene that will make you laugh. Ive bought store-brand lactase enzyme and sometimes it works, sometimes not. But if I can get the brand-name stuff her on Amazon for a few pennies more, Im in. The Lactaid brand really works--100% of the time. By the way, a doctor told me recently that as you age your intolerance gets worse, so you may need to use more--a good thing to know. I love that this is an Amazon Prime product and that it gets delivered to my door without shipping costs.

I am lactose intolerant this product is an answered prayer. I also love that I can put it on auto ship and keep it in stock at my house.

This lets me eat stuff that would otherwise make me painfully gassy. Welcome back to my life fresh cheeses, ice cream and whipped cream. Fact: 60% of the world struggles with digesting dairy. Fact: Most cheese are easy to digest for people because cheese is made from the curds that you separate from the whey in milk. The whey has the lactose (which makes it difficult to digest) in it. Also, as cheese ages, whatever lactose is in it, slowly goes away. The more aged the cheese, the easier to digest. Please vote yes or helpful for this review. Thank you!

Why should your bacteria feed on some lactose just so you can fart. Cut it out, us modern humans have a pill for everything I love it. I can drink milk without it but I prefer not to play the tuba sometimes. I also take Beano for the many plant foods that also feed bacteria, but it dont work as well as lactase works for lactose.. and then theres gas from watermelon that only activated charcoal works too prevent and sometimes not even works but I will still eat these foods. I like this version because it doesnt have the sugar alcohol in it!

Great product but it took a couple weeks to get them. UPS would not deliver without a signature. Theyre lactose pills!

Im posting this in case anyone else has a similar experience. It was mysterious to me but I believe Ive figure it out. I had been taking the original formulation of Lactaid, where a full dose required swallowing 3 pills before eating dairy. Thinking I could possibly save a little money, and reduce pill-swallowing, I ordered the other version, the Fast Actiing, where you take only ONE pill before each meal. These are also individually wrapped, which makes them easy to carry around, but seems like wasteful packaging to me. Within a week of starting on the single pill dose lactaid I started having severe problems and they were similar to lactose problems... bloating, diarrhea, stomach pain, terrible gas. Comparing the formulations, the active ingredient is identical, so this seemed really odd. Then I looked at the INACTIVE ingredients and they ARE very different. Turns out the inactive ingredients in BOTH formulations CAN cause stomach problems for some people (like an allergic reaction). So, I switched back and the whole thing cleared up. I can only surmise that I am allergic to one or more of the inactives in the single-pill formulation and not to the inactives in the triple-pill formulation. Im not really giving this a one star review, it probably works just fine for many people, and one pill is more convenient. But Im stuck swallowing three... and that seems to keep my lactose intolerance at bay even with a pizza meal. Thank goodness!! Good luck.

Great product as always, but I thought I was ordering a bottle of 60 and not single serve pocket packs. But oh well, still great and solve the dairy problem.
