> 3 dayI have had a battle trying to set these up with HomeKit. Meross provides a ton of troubleshooting methods such as restarting the router, turn iPhone on/off, switch Wi-Fi to 2.4GHz, factory reset the switch. I have never been more frustrated setting up a HomeKit product. After all this troubleshooting I could only get 2 out of 4 to pair, and after all this troubleshooting I have no idea what was actually successful. The two that are paired work great, but my oh my was getting them setup a huge pain. EDIT: once they are paired, they are a breeze, and an awesome product that is great for the price.

> 3 dayI have around ten Meross smart items. A few Plugs and Blubs. When they stay connected and work, theyre truly amazing. But sadly, they often lose WIFI connection which requires a reset. Resetting the device is an absolute hassle as you need to delete the device(s) from the Meross or HomeKit app and then attempt to re-add them. Re-adding a device thats already been added can be a real headache as the connection will fail and claim the device already exists even though its been removed. I often need to complete the setup process many, many, many times before it will actually work and the device appears in my ecosystem again. When I finish writing this review, I need to attempt to reconnect 2 smart plugs and 1 bulb. This will be my fourth attempt this morning and the third time Ive had to do this process in the two weeks that Ive owned the devices. Be mindful, if you have MANY Meross devices, they all need to be connected/reconnected INDIVIDUALLY which can be time-consuming. Ill still continue to purchase Meross plugs and Bulbs but I honestly home the coming Firmware updates resolve this insanity.

> 3 dayI have purchased about a dozen of these for different houses. They are generally easy to set up with HomeKIt. However, there are a number of inconsistencies that seem to point to manufacturing issues: 1) Out of the box, some dont set up easily, others do. Same wifi, same location. 2) Some seem to lose connectivity once set up, others dont. Again, same wifi and same location. A few will frequently be updating when I want to control them. I like them, like the price point and buy in sets of, but may have to look for alternatives if 25-50% of the pack arent useable.

> 3 dayThese are best of breed - but concerns about the source made me queasy - so deleted the app and use as mechanical switches via the activation buttons. True, it robs them of IP capability and iPhone switching but I feel better - and I’m including the Homekit versions - they’re “compatible” - but not made by . True, my iPhone’s always on the 5GHz network so I need to switch networks back to 2.4GHz to access this - which pretty much obviates its use - but except for my TV inside a cabinet, all my other switches are ‘walk up’ in plain sight and the soft touch switch aspect is a pleasure to use for turning on or restarting devices - which TV needs all too often. BTW, I’m a Meross fan due to their little wood cabinet clock - which makes a great gift.

30-03-2025These are very easy to set up once you understand the process. You run the Home app, add an accessory, and scan the Q-code with your phone. Next you immediately plug it into an open plug so that the device can be found via WiFi. I recommend doing this with an easily accessible plug *near* your WiFi router initially before taking it to its destination. Why? The set up can take longer with a plug farther away and sometimes it would not complete when further away. So I would have to bring it closer, and try again. Once the plug is added, you can easily take it further away without any operational issues (so long as you are in WiFi range of course).

> 3 dayThese are way easier to set up than I thought. All you have to do is scan the QR code and you’re ready to go!

> 3 dayThe instructions, both on-line and in the package insert, are out of date and simply do not work. Installing these outlets is more a matter of guesswork than logic. Unless an almost obsessive level of patience is one of your core personal values, safe yourself a headache and buy something else.
