> 3 dayIve tried this switch and a competitors. This one was always easy to use with Homekit. Always responded showing its status and switching on request. The competitors usualy was not responding. Maybe the competitor may improve when they update the firmware, but by now I would recommend Meross to be sure it will work properly.

> 3 dayHad another brand I got from a friend and they weren’t that reliable or hooked up to Apple HomeKit. These do and they are so fast! There’s no delay when pressing the button on my iPhone. Love that! Would highly recommend if you are looking to get your house outlet plugs hooked up with HomeKit for cheap.

> 3 dayThese switches are reliable and easy to connect to your account using the following method: A. Ensure the device is ready to connect by blinking orange & green. (May have to hold the side button for 5 seconds). B. Connect to the 2.4 Ghz wifi network you want the device to join, then go back to the wifi settings and log into the Meross devices wifi. (See photo). C. Next you can enter HomeKit when prompted, then scan the HomeKit code on top and follow provided directions. D. Last, go into the Meross Application & select the unbounded device. After the pop-up (see photo) back out, and pull down (refresh app) and youll see your devices present in both HomeKit & the Meross application. I have iOS 14.5 (apple beta) incase your devices connect differently than I have recommended. Now that you are setup your devices feel free to connect to your patio lights and tell Siri/Google/Alexa to turn them on/off! These are not waterproof though Meross does have devices that are!

> 3 dayThese are easy to set up. I especially like that I can access them through the app when I am away from home to turn lights on or off. I definitely recommend them.

> 3 dayI haven’t had one last more than a year. Once in a while if it’s off line I’ll have to unplug and plug back in. Or I’ll have to reset completely. I have 4 that are 100% dead and can not connect. Tossed them.

> 3 dayI started buying Meross Smart MiniPlugs about a year ago, attracted by their price, and a little nervous about their quality. I have found the MiniPlugs to be solidly built, relatively easy to set up, and have had no reliability issues. I also bought a smart wall switch and wall dimmer switch from Meross. Same good experience with both of those. Although I believe you can add these devices to Home without installing the Meross app, you will not be able to get upgraded firmware for the devices without having a Meross app and account. This is not a big issue - the app is free, and doesnt trouble you with notifications or junk mail, etc. Apple Home will tell you that a device update is available. You simply use the app, click update and its done. I bought another 4 mini plugs during a cyber Monday deal saving about $2 on each device. Even without the discount, these smart plugs are an excellent value.

> 3 dayLike many others have written, getting these outlets into HomeKit is an absolute nightmare. I’m not sure if it’s because they need a firmware update out of the box or what it is, but I’m two hours in, and have only gotten three out of four plugs recognized by HomeKit so far. I have many, many HomeKit devices and they all install without a hitch. I know these will work eventually (I’ve gotten three installed), but this is so frustrating. 1 star for easy to install. Once they’re installed, they seem to work just fine. I’ve only had them installed for a bit, so I’m giving them a 4 star rating - minus one start for the HomeKit installation pain.

> 3 dayWith the first one, I had some problems with the setup. I then attempted to add a different one and had no problems, so I reinstalled the first one and it went smoothly. I installed all 4 plugs, and they are working great. The other important thing is that if you move from one to another outlet, all you have to do is rename it. I liked these so much I just purchased the outdoor plug and thinking about getting the switches. The interface is really nice since I installed using the Meross app and Alexa, Google and Apple apps were automatically updated too. I will always buy this brand to automate my house.
